Crying Game WTF?

Coen Brothers Ranked

COEN BROS
I hadn't thought about it before, but ranking Coen Brother's films, like this guy did, is a trial worthy of  Odysseus.  The lazy me would rank them as a fourteen-way tie for first, even though I haven't seen them all (The Ladykillers, Intolerable Cruelty).  If you put a gun to my head however,  my rankings in descending order are to the right.

By happenstance I watched A Serious Man for the first time just a few days ago.  I really liked it, but was forced to go to Wikipedia to understand a few things afterward, like the significance of the opening scene (it was put in to set the tone).

The Lovely Bones

The Lovely Bones

I watched The Lovely Bones (2009) on HBO last night. It's about a fourteen year-old girl who's murdered by a serial killer neighbor.  She watches in angry frustration as her killer eludes capture. Emotionally draining and spiritually satisfying at the same time.  I'm haunted by it.

PS - I think the trailer shows too much.

Daily Output

ACHIEVERS

I've been doing this blogging thing for 9 years, so I know what's involved.  There are people like John Hawkins (Right Wing News) and Gerard Van der Leun  (American Digest, and Ka-Ching!, and Editor-in-Chief of RightNetwork,  and Essays all over the place) whose daily output - truly good and original output - is beyond my ken.  Ka-Ching! alone would be a full time job for me, and now it's been totally reformatted in his, I take it, spare time. No better eye candy on the web - check it out.

Now, if you'll excuse me ...

I'm good enough. I'm smart enough. And doggone it, people like me. Ka-Ching

Egyptian archaeologist admits
pyramids contain UFO technology

In a shock statement, head of the Cairo University Archeology Department, Dr Ala Shaheen has told an audience that there might be truth to the theory that aliens helped the ancient Egyptians build the oldest of pyramids, the Pyramids of Giza.

On being further questioned by Mr Marek Novak, a delegate from Poland as to whether the pyramid might still contain alien technology or even a UFO with its structure, Dr Shaheen, was vague and replied "I can not confirm or deny this, but there is something inside the pyramid that is "not of this world".

Delegates to the conference on ancient Egyptian architecture were left shocked, however Dr Shaheen has refused to comment further or elaborate on his UFO and alien related statements.

I know what you're saying. "Oh no Rodge, don't tell me you're a birther AND a space alienist too?" Well,  admittedly there's considerally more evidence to support the former, but I'm more than open-minded about the latter. Call it a hobby.  Remember, there are those who believe that Hillary never saw the Rose Law Firm billing records found on her kitchen table.  I'm on much firmer ground,  wouldn't you agree?

Don't let the White Separatists win

Snowman with noose appalls neighbors

Boned Jello
Kootenai County sheriff's deputies told Mark Eliseuson Wednesday that he could be charged with a crime because the 10-foot-tall snowman was holding what appeared to be a noose. Deputies were called by neighbors who were appalled by the pointy-headed snowman with two dark eyes.
The guy is a supposedly a "White separatist," so duh.  We all have our crosses to bear.  As bad as white separatists are, and they're despicable,  this solution is way worse.

I don't see a "noose exception" anywhere in the First Amendment, do you? To show that even the most despicable amongst us have some good in them:

At Halloween he passed out bullet casings after he said he ran out of candy.

Hanging Genachowski

Why We Hanged Genachowski
Wave goodbye to Internet freedom

With a straight face, Mr. Genachowski suggested that government red tape will increase the "freedom" of online services that have flourished because bureaucratic busybodies have been blocked from tinkering with the Web. Ordinarily, it would be appropriate at this point to supply an example from the proposed regulations illustrating the problem. Mr. Genachowski's draft document has over 550 footnotes and is stamped "non-public, for internal use only" to ensure nobody outside the agency sees it until the rules are approved in a scheduled Dec. 21 vote. So much for "openness." DDD
Good article from WaTimes nicely sums up ... .
It's not clear why the FCC thinks it needs to intervene in a situation with obvious market solutions. ... Freedom and openness should continue to be the governing principles of the Internet. That's why Mr. Genachowski's proposal should be rejected and Congress should make it even more clear that the FCC should stop trying to expand its regulatory empire.

Call Them MUZIS

It's Yodel not Jodl ya freaking morons

An Austrian has been fined for yodelling while mowing his lawn, according to a report.

The Kronen Zeitung newspaper claims Helmut G. was told by a court in Graz, Styria, that his yodelling offended his next-door Muslim neighbours.

MUZIS
The men reportedly accused the 63-year-old of having tried to mock and imitate the call of the Muezzin. The daily paper writes the Austrian was fined 800 Euros after judges ruled he could have tried to offend them and ridicule their belief. The Muslims, whose nationalities were not revealed by the report, were right in the middle of a prayer when the Austrian started to yodel.

We're just another DEMOCRAT ADMINISTRATION, and a  few democrat federal judges away from finding ourselves in the same boat.  SondraK has more.  Buy more ammo. In the meanwhile, an: Imam in Germany recites Qur'an's wife-beating verse -- while beating his wife

Watchdog Bachmann

Bachmann:  Insurrection’ Against
GOP Leaders If They Don’t ....

A spokesman for House Minority Leader John Boehner (R.-Ohio), who will be the speaker of the House in the next Congress, answered more ambiguously, saying that Boehner was committed to holding a vote to repeal Obamacare, but not directly stating whether that vote would tie the repeal of Obamcare to other issues such as health-care reforms intended to “replace” Obamacare.

Bachmann has a reputation for being extreme, even among Republicans.  This is a good example of why.  Sign me up.
