Upgrade to Mexican standards?

  A Question ...

  • To vote in Mexico every eligible citizen must have a tamper-proof ID card with a thumbprint and embossed hologram.
  • All citizens are required to personally enroll and show proof of birth citizen ship.
  • Applicants are required to personally return to collect their voting credential.

So, how is it we can't upgrade to Mexican standards; or be called racist to even suggest it?  Maybe it's because one political party is dependent on voter fraud?  Can you suggest any other reason?

The Obamissariat

I remember us visiting my parents one Sunday.  My wife prompted, "tell them about your order."  I told them that, yes, their son had just received the largest order in the history of the company I worked for." My mother beamed and cooed.  My dad, after a few moments of furrowed browness said, "How are you going to make your quota net year?"

Now, just days after an historic thumping of the Obamissariat, we are awash with this storyline:

After securing control of the Senate Tuesday, Republicans are already staring down a daunting map for 2016

DAMNATIION!  Why couldn't we have just lost this election.  Why God, why!  But, wait! P.J. Comix chimes in.

Please, Blue Fairy! Oh PRETTY PLEASE!!! Please return the Senate to the Democrats in 2016.

The DUmmies are now praying for the Senate to return to majority Democrat in 2016. However, the very map they have posted shows it is an almost impossible task. I see at most 3 or maybe even 4 chances at the most. Not enough to regain the Senate especially since Landrieu looks like history and Manchin has a good chance of switching sides soon. In fact, the Democrats could even lose a couple of seats in 2016. I am thinking of Nevada tossing out Harry Reid and Colorado dumping their remaining Democrat. Even some DUmmies have given up hope as you can see on their thread, The Senate Map Flips in 2016. So let us now watch the DUmmies cross their fingers and wish real hard for a 2016 Senate flip in Bolshevik Red while the commentary of your humble correspondent, who enjoys watching the DUmmies flip their lids, is in the [brackets]:

The Senate Map Flips in 2016

[Say it enough times and you might believe it.]

“After securing control of the Senate Tuesday, Republicans are already staring down a daunting map for 2016,” Roll Call reports.

[It doesn't look daunting at all. Conservatives states are going to vote their approval of shamnesty?]

“The majority of the Senate battleground in the next election cycle will be fought on Republican turf, with the GOP defending 24 seats to the Democrats’ 10. There is more trouble for the party beneath those raw numbers; only two Democratic seats are in competitive states, while more than half a dozen Republican incumbents face re-election in states President Barack Obama carried at least once.”

[Yawn! Maybe if you DUmmies rub that map enough and chant it might work. Now to the DUmmie hopeful reactions...]

Don't worry Our wonderful Democratic Party leaders and their highly paid grifters...err...I mean "consultants" and "strategists" will find some way to f*** it up.

[COAKLEY 2016!!!]

Yes, but at the moment none of these are "open" seats. I think people don't understand how bad the map was for Senate Democrats this year. Not only were we fighting on Republican turf in many places, but there were so many open seats, due mostly to senators retiring. Right now, there are no open races in any of the states that we would hope to turn from red to blue in 2016.

[Party Pooper!!!]

Can Barack Obama Run For Senator In Illinois In 2016?..... I know he says this is his last job - but isn't it possible for him to go back to the Senate? If he can't or doesn't want to - how about Michelle.

[And you call yourselves a REALITY based community?]

I wouldn't count on a flip in PA. It's not out of the question, but there has to be a ton of negatives for the Republicans to be ousted in this state.

[Okay, enough with 2016. How about if we talk 2018?]

Climate change supporters suffer losses
Despite millions spent to make climate change a wedge issue during the midterms, environmentally friendly candidates didn’t fare well on Election Day.

Green groups funneled an unprecedented amount of money into top Senate races that determined control of the upper chamber but fell short.

The nation’s top environmental groups including the League of Conservation Voters, the Sierra Club, the Environmental Defense Fund, the Natural Resources Defense Council, and billionaire Tom Steyer’s NextGen Climate spent at least $85 million on six Senate races.

Out of those six races, only two candidates willing to take action on climate change won their races.

Second Amendment Crushes Gun Control Candidates in Midterm Elections

As the election returns came in on November 4 one thing was evident—the Second Amendment crushed gun control candidates in Senate and gubernatorial races around the country.
In so doing, the Second Amendment annihilated the left's relentless claim that 90 percent of Americans support more gun control.

Hollywood Reeling from Bitter Election Defeats...

Tennis Channel chief Ken Solomon said he and his fellow Hollywood fundraisers realized in recent weeks that their candidates were in trouble. As Barbra Streisand sent out a donation plea to Democratic fundraisers across the country, industry politicos began to prepare themselves for a losing battle.

"It was the worst election map since Eisenhower," Solomon said. "We all put on our body armor and were waiting for this explosion. Now we just need to move forward."

Tea Party, a net winner?

How the "Tea Party 'radical' wing of the
Republican Party" did on Tuesday.

Freeper Viennacon does yeomanlike work examining how the "Tea Party 'radical' wing of the Republican Party" did on Tuesday (or conversely, how the GOP wing of the Democrat party fared against traditional Americans).  This is a follow up to his/her excellent, and comprehensive  MY ULTIMATE MIDTERM ANALYSIS.

As will always be the case in any such analyses, there are quibbles (see the comments).

Of the Tea Party caucus in the House, we lost a total of ___ members.

Michelle Bachmann (MN-6) - Retired Kerry Bentivolio (MI-11) - Lost primary to establishment hack David Trott who won the seat in the general Steve Southerland (FL-2) - Lost general election to Democrat Gwen Graham Steve Stockman (TX-36) - Abandoned seat to try an unseat Republican senator John Cornyn. Lost that primary. Paul Bround (GA-10) - Abandoned seat to run for senator. Lost that primary. Phil Gingrey (GA-11) - Abandoned seat to run for senator. Lost that primary.

So, a total of 6 Tea Party losses in the House.

Well, that means the Tea Party 'radical' wing of the Republican Party lost 6 and gained 15, for a net total of 9 pickups for the Tea Party in the house.
Now, it is true that overall, the Republicans picked up likely 17 seats formerly held by Democrats, and so this dilutes it a little, but it seems like a wash to me.
Rumors that Boehner now has enough 'spare' votes to ignore his Tea caucus are false. He's in exactly the same position he was in before, perhaps even moreso a hostage, as he did lose a couple of moderates himself (Bachus, Hall, Wolf).
What about the gains?

John Ratcliffe (TX-4) - Shot down incumbent Ralph Hall in the Republican primary. Ran unopposed.

Dave Brat (VA-7) - Astonishingly demolished incumbent house majority leader Eric Cantor in arguably the cycle's biggest upset. Won the general.

Tom Emmer (MN-6) - Succeeding Bachmann, Emmer has a solid fiery conservative record. He won easily.

Jody Hice (GA-10) - Succeeding Broun, this guy is infuriating Democrats who are calling him 'the most evil republican of 2014!'... so you know he's solid gold! Easily won in the deep red district and has said he wont vote for Boehner.

Barry Loudermilk (GA-11) - Succeeding Gingrey, Loudermilk is actually more conservative than his predecessor, endorsed by SCF, ran unopposed and won't vote for Boehner.

Mia Love (UT-4) - Early Tea Party favorite, after much struggle, she is IN!

Alex Mooney (WV-2) - Solid conservative wins the seat previously held by moderate now-Republican-senator Shelly Moore Capito in a walk.

David Rouzer (NC-7) - Been waiting to come to congress for a while, this was his year. Replaced retiring blue dog Democrat Mike McIntyre.

Ken Buck (CO-4) - Likely to be a little more conservative than now-Republican-senator Cory Gardner, former 2010 senate candidate is now a congressman.

Barbara Comstock (VA-10) - A Mark Levin pick for congress, she won easily the seat of retired RINO Frank Wolf.

Bruce Poliquinn (ME-2) - A very conservative candidate who won the primary in an upset. Establishment thought he'd lose. He didn't.

Crescent Hardy (NV-4) - Consevative state assemblyman. He beat Democrat Steven Horseford in an upset. Democrats already griping he's a radical.

Mike Bost (IL-12) - Dubbed Meltdown Mike for his explosive defenses of the 2nd Amendment on the floor of the state house, he is going to be giving as much hell to the democrats and RINOS as Stockman did.

Gary Palmer (AL-6) - Seizing the seat held by retiring RINO Spencer Bachus is a solid Alabama conservative.

Johnny Tacherra (CA-16)??? - Seems on course to unseat Democrat incumbent Jim Costa in an upset nobody saw coming. He comes out of the Tim Donnelly school of California right wing thought.

-----------------------------------------------

Well, that means the Tea Party 'radical' wing of the Republican Party lost 6 and gained 15, for a net total of 9 pickups for the Tea Party in the house.

Now, it is true that overall, the Republicans picked up likely 17 seats formerly held by Democrats, and so this dilutes it a little, but it seems like a wash to me.

Rumors that Boehner now has enough 'spare' votes to ignore his Tea caucus are false. He's in exactly the same position he was in before, perhaps even moreso a hostage as he did lose a couple of moderates himself (Bachus, Hall, Wolf).

I hope this provides some encouragement. The Tea Party is ALIVE AND WELL.

A Fine Sapling

It's Your Choice

HEAVEN AND HELL
MoSup

While walking down the street one day a Corrupt Senator was tragically hit by a car and died. His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.

"Welcome to heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you."

"No problem, just let me in," says the Senator.

"Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from the higher ups. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity."

"Really?, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven," says the Senator.

"I'm sorry, but we have our rules." And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell.

The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him.

Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people. They played a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and the finest champagne.

Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who is having a good time dancing and telling jokes.
They are all having such a good time that before the Senator realizes it, it is time to go. Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises.

The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens in heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him, "Now it's
time to visit heaven.

So, 24 hours passed with the Senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.

"Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity."

The Senator reflects for a minute, then he answers: "Well, I would never have said it before, I mean
heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell."

So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell...

When the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage. He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above
The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulders.

"I don't understand," stammers the Senator. "Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland
full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?"

The devil smiles at him and says, "Yesterday we were campaigning, Today, you voted.."

"... this is Maryland"

Aside from looking at Drudge a few times tonight,  I've been watching [Best Ever] Inspector George Gently on NetFlix.  The wife just came inand, this is so precious I had to share.

It seems that with 75% of the vote counted, Republican Larry Hogan has 61% of the vote in the MD. Gubernatorial race over Martin O'Malleys lickspittle "token," Lt. Gov Anthony Brown.  Because Brown jumped out to an early lead indicates that Baltimore City's ballots have been counted, it makes it harder to come up with "discovered ballots" at the 12th hour.  Anyway, the TV guy, after visiting a very somber Brown H.Q.,  went to Hogan's and asked how everyone was feeling. Hogan's campaign manager said "We're upbeat, but rememberthis is Maryland!"

Ouch. LMAO.

Beating Dead Horses Because They Aren't Really Dead
should be dead, but they ain't

But this is how mass hysteria works - and how it always has worked, as the French author Gustave Le Bon observed in his influential 1895 work The Crowd: A Study of the Popular Mind. One of the key methods by which demagogues work their magic and sell their snake oil to the delusional masses is through the medium of repetition, which acts on people's brains like a virus.
"Science has spoken. There is no ambiguity in their message. Leaders must act. Time is not on our side," said the UN Secretary General Ban-Ki Moon at the launch of the report yesterday in Copenhagen, Denmark.

"Those who choose to ignore or dispute the science so clearly laid out in this report do so at great risk for all of us and for our kids and grandkids," said US Secretary of State, John Kerry.

What neither appears to have realised is that the report contains no new "science" whatsoever. That is because it is a political document not a scientific one. It merely synthesises the three (heavily criticised) reports released over the last 13 months by the IPCC's three Working Groups, cherrypicks the scariest bits, turns the hysteria up to 11, then asserts on this basis that drastic measures must be taken if disaster is to be averted.

Again, what is going here most definitely isn't science. It's pure propaganda.
Here, as summarised by the BBC's Environment Reporter Matt McGrath, are some of the synthesis report's key claims:
1. Warming is "unequivocal" and the human influence on climate is clear
2. Since the 1950s the observed changes are unprecedented over decades to millennia
3. The period from 1983 to 2012, it says, was likely the warmest 30 year period of the last 1,400 years
4. Warming impacts are already being seen around the globe, in the acidification of the oceans, the melting of arctic ice and poorer crop yields in many parts
5. Without concerted action on carbon, temperatures will increase over the coming decades and could be almost 5C above pre-industrial levels by the end of this century

None of these statements holds up to serious scrutiny.

1. Is so trivial as to be meaningless. Everyone agrees - dependent on timescale - that warming is unequivocal and that humans have an impact on climate, from the farts of beef cattle to the localised warming effects of cities.
2. Is a flat out lie. There have been several recorded instances of temperature rises at least as steep as the one post 1950. The most recent of these was the one between 1910 and 1940.
3. Dishonestly attempts to write off the Medieval Warm Period which - as even Michael Mann once admitted before he fully embraced the alarmist cause - saw average temperatures higher than in the late Twentieth century.
4. Is a litany of half-truths and straw men. Ocean acidification is little more than an urban myth. Arctic melting (or refreezing, as it is doing at the moment) tells us nothing about anthropogenic influences. The crop yields claim is misleading since the one thing we do know about the effects of growing CO2 levels is that they have contributed significantly to the greening of the planet.
5. Is a spectacularly arrogant assertion, giving the paucity of the evidence provided so far to justify it. As for that "5 degrees C by the end of the century" claim: not one of the computer models making such extravagant predictions has had any of its doomy prognostications to date validated by real world evidence.

None of this, of course, will prevent the report being enthusiastically trumpeted by the usual suspects across the mainstream media from the Guardian and the BBC to the New York Times as representing incontrovertible truth that climate change is the most serious issue of our time and that we must act now.  [FULL]

As I see it, the hallmark characteristic of "Progressives" may be found in this statement of fact; they still preach that communist spy Alger Hiss was an innocent victim So, yeah, it is necessary to beat these dead horses incessantly.   They are Demon Screwtape ministering to his nephew Wormwood, a.k.a. the intellectually lazy.

I suspect the GOP will have the Senate in its possession tonight. I am optimistic for 53 seats, though I would settle for 51. I do not think the night closes with the fate of the Senate being unknown due to runoffs. I think Kansas Republicans will come home to Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS)93% too. The party leaders will work overtime running from their own victory claiming the nation has not just rejected Obama, but also conservatives. Nonetheless, the win is good for America in that it will restrain the President, if not the spending.

There is just no need to reciprocate. Enjoy the victories. Have fun online. Feast on the tears of the liberals. But don’t be a Crazy Pete. OBAMA'S DOD COWERS

When Progressives are in charge
American Bowzy-Wowzy

London: 1908 Olymics At the opening ceremony, American shot putter Ralph Rose, the US flag bearer, refused to dip the flag to the royal box because, "This flag dips to no earthly king."  With a few exception that practice was repeated by American Olympic delegations until prior to the 1936 Hitler Olympics in Berlin, " the tradition gets codified for the USOC — it's not just the athletes doing it, now there's an official policy After 1936, we never dip again." (LA TIMES)

Of course since 2008 the United States president, Brock Ebola, has dipped himself to every monarch he's met  (with the exception of Britain's queen), showing particular displays of fealty to Islamo nabobs.

It's funny how one thing will send my mind racing to other things that have no apparent relationship.  The below, seemingly unconnected event produced all that.

Verging on Mass Murder

The Obamissariat

The deadly EV-D68 enterovirus epidemic, which struck thousands of kids this fall, was likely propelled through America by President Barack Obama’s decision to allow tens of thousands of Central Americans across the Texas border, according to a growing body of genetic and statistical evidence.

The issue is dangerous for scientists because it could spike existing public opposition to the unpopular effort by Obama, Democrats and business-backed Republicans to increase the migration of foreign nationals ... into the United States.
That inflow is a top priority for the Democratic leaders, who have the power to make life difficult for grant-dependent American scientists who discover politically damaging information.
The evidence includes admissions from top health officials that the epidemic included multiple strains of the virus, and that it appeared simultaneously in multiple independent locations.

The question can be settled if federal researchers study the genetic fingerprint of the EV-D68 viruses that first hit kids in Colorado, Missouri and Illinois to see if they are close relatives to the EV-D68 viruses found in Central America.

Columbia University researcher Rafal Tokarz, one of the nation’s top experts on the EV-D68 virus, declined to comment to TheDC about the impact of Obama’s border policies. “I cannot comment… and at this time it would not be appropriate for me to do so… I would really rather not comment,” he said in email conversations.
