Snip and Save;Putlocker

Free TV

We've been watching things on Free TV and Putlocker, and last night, I tried to fire up Popcorn Time, and it wouldn't work.  So.... I tried to download other versions, none would load.

I contacted a friend down in Cuenca, and he had run into the same problem..... he found that, if you scroll down on the Google search page for Popcorn Time downloads, there is a new version out there:   xxxxx.se  that works like a charm.  The selection is GREAT, as is the quality.  A nice, new feature is:  If you go to TV shows... they have future shows listed for series, that haven't been released yet (Mad Men, Justified, Ray Donovan, True Detective, etc.....).... you can't watch them, but they are listed.

Also, we have already watched the entire new season of Downton Abbey (except for the Xmas episode), on Free TV ( http://www.free-tv-video-online.me/ )......as far as we know, it hasn't been released by PBS for viewing in the States yet.  My friend in Ecuador tells me that some people have told him (as they have told me) that once you locate a program and try to view it, the services try to load crap on your computer...which you have the option to load or not..... NEVER load anything.

For each episode of Downton Abbey, we used the Vodlocker server, and it never suggested that we download anything.

Also, we are finding MANY movies (the good versions) on Putlocker, that are still in the theaters.  Sometimes, they may have foreign language subtitles, but a few minutes into a movie, and you become unaware of them.

Fox Anchor says CNBC 'silenced' her coverage of Obamacare

“November 15, 2014 Fox Anchor says CNBC 'silenced' her coverage of Obamacare By Rick Moran An anchor for Fox Business Network who used to work for CNBC told viewers that her superiors at the network "silenced" her reporting on Obamacare, telling her she was "disrespecting the office of the president" by pointing out that Obamacare's math didn't add up.

This isn't surprising, of course, but it raises an interesting question.

How many other reporters over the years had a little chat with their superiors about negative coverage of the Obama administration?

Most journalists would be embarassed to come forward and admit they tanked their stories because of their bosses' support of President Obama.  Then there are those reporters who "self-censored" in covering the White House.  This was certainly true regarding every major scandal involving the administration, whether it was Benghazi, Fast and Furious, or especially the IRS scandal. Never heard of this flic, but it's old enough to have been panned by the late Roger Ebert—and just about everyone else too.  It's off-beat (by my standards) and I loved it.  It's certainly no worse than anything from the "Guy's Night Out" genre that I've seen.  Definitely NSFW, and I larfed me arse off.  I think the ladies would like this too—if they watched it with other ladies.  Netflix.

Krauthammer calls for Inpeachment

The Obamissariat

“

"Look, I believe it is an impeachable offense," Krauthammer told Kelly.

"If the circumstances were different, if we were at the beginning of a presidency, if we hadn't had years when the Congress has been supine and unresponsive at other grabs of their authority by the executive--like Obama unilaterally changing Obamacare after it was passed about 30 times with no response from the Congress--the same as Obama essentially re-writing some of the drug laws.

"This idea of prosecutorial discretion is really a travesty. It is intended for extreme cases. For a case where you want to show mercy for an individual or two where it's unusual incident, unusual circumstances and you say, okay, we're going to give this person a pass. It was never intended to abolish a whole class of people subject to a law and to essentially abolish whole sections of a law. And that's exactly what's happening here."

I was at first taken in by Liberal Chick, but after checking out some of her other work, and visiting the website (Clash Daily) that spawns her work— LOL.  Beauty.

Remember that young high school girl who used to post conservative video commentary about 10 years ago?   I'm wondering if this might not be her.  Great satire, and she appears to have a legion of Liberal fans, as well as large numbers of outraged ... (let's hope) RINO.

Poirot Potty Humor

Humor from unlikely places

“

Last night I watched a Poirot episode (Hickory Dickory Dock) which I have developed quite a fondness for.

Poirot invites Inspector Japp to stay with him for a week while his wife is away. He makes his favorite meals for Japp (Lemon Sole and veggie platters, etc) which Japp finds foreign and unsubstantial.  After returning from a potty break, Japp asks what the "foot bath" thing in the bathroom is?  Poirot is embarrassed, and doesn't want to explain what a bidet is used for, especially in front of his secretary Miss Lemon.  Later Japp announces that, voila, he used it to wash his face.

At the end, Inspector Japp invites Poirot to eat at his house, and makes him an "English" meal with three things and dessert. The meal is mash potatoes, mushy peas, and "faggots" (bits of pork and mixed meat). For dessert he has "spotted dick" pudding.  Poirot says he has a "allergy of the faggot." Japp is disappointed and says "you haven't got a phobia to dick have you?"

Most of the humor in Poirot mysteries come via Poirot's facial expression to various things, so this was very, even sophomorically over the top.  And speaking of a inappropriate dick...
The Seahawk mascot is clearly guilty here.

"One is the old corrupt party of thieves and crooks. Its politicians, black and white, are the products of political machines. They believe in absolutely nothing. They can go from being Dixiecrats to crying racism, from running on family values to pushing gay marriage and the War on Women. They will say absolutely anything to get elected."—the Sultan Knish;

The late California Democrat Tom Lantos falls into the first category of Democrats, as defined by Sultan Knish.   His LANTOS FOUNDATION survives, and funds MEMRI (Middle East Media Research Institute).   I  stumbled on  the site and found Satan and a Jewish Woman Give Birth to ISIS satire (which is bizarre).

I'm struck by how these Iraqis substitute
a Jewish woman (huh?) for the obvious Satan-Radical Muslim connection.   That emulates Lantos's Democrat Party tactic of shifting blame to political enemies (Obama: Conservatives Are Greatest Threat To Nation) for their failures.  Let's just say evil begets evil, Tom. RIP.

Inspector George Gently

Inspector George Gently

Crime drama, set in the 1960s, about an old-school detective trying to come to terms with a time when the lines between the police and criminals have become blurred.
I resisted the series "Inspector George Gently," which Netflix kept insisting I'd like because the name put me off.  It's  now at the top of my list of best series ever.  The genius of each episode, which at 90 minutes or so are more feature films than episodes, is the twist.  Every episode ends with a gobsmack.  But, and here's the genius, the solution once revealed is transparent and uncontrived. It was there all along; but your mind wouldn't let you go there.  Five stars for acting too. Your mileage may differ if you love Gomer Pyle re-runs. Watch on Netflix or BBC

'Obamacare for the Internet'

Video: Ted Cruz declares the 'era of Obama lawlessness is over'

Really?  Let's first wait for the results of this PET scan:

That was President Barack Obama's November 10 take on who gets to decide whether new rules governing so-called "net neutrality" — regulating broadband Internet providers as "common carriers" under the Communications Act of 1934 — gets implemented.
[...] "Unfortunately, the court ultimately struck down the rules — not because it disagreed with the need to protect net neutrality, but because it believed the FCC had taken the wrong legal approach," Obama claimed in his statement.

Which may be putting it mildly. To wit, the court said "Given that the Commission has chosen to classify broadband providers in a manner that exempts them from treatment as common carriers, the Communications Act expressly prohibits the Commission from nonetheless regulating them as such. Because the Commission has failed to establish that the anti-discrimination and anti-blocking rules do not impose per se common carrier obligations, we vacate those portions of the Open Internet Order."

In other words, under the 1996 Telecommunications Act, Internet service providers were exempted from being treated under Title II of the Communications Act of 1934 as common carriers. Instead, they were be treated as exempt "information services" providers by the FCC in an initial 2002 determination.

Because of that, the FCC cannot now go back and treat them as if they were common carriers, said the court. That is, not without the FCC going back and reversing its determination.

Which is exactly what Obama wants the agency to do: "I believe the FCC should reclassify consumer broadband service under Title II of the Telecommunications Act."

But that is untested. Can the FCC just change its mind? [Obama skips Congress on ‘net neutrality’]

I don't think Obamunism can go into remission, anymore than totalitarianism.  Each occurrence must be surgically removed.

POPE FRANCIS: 'PAGAN' CHRISTIANS 'IN NAME ONLY' ARE 'ENEMIES OF THE CROSS'

Not all those who claim to be Christians really are, said Pope Francis Friday morning. Some are Christians “in name only,” he said. “They bear the name of Christians but live a life of pagans.”

In his homily at Mass, the Pope that there have always been two types of Christian, those who truly followed Christ and those who only pretended to. At the time of Saint Paul, there were “worldly Christians, Christians in name only, with two or three Christian features, but nothing more.” The Pope called this sort of people “Pagan Christians,” whom St. Paul called “enemies of the cross of Christ.”

In Paul’s time, the Pope said, the two groups of Christians “were in church together, went to Mass on Sunday, praised the Lord, and were called Christians.” So what was the difference? He asked. The second were “enemies of the cross of Christ.”

The Pope went on to say that “even today there are many! We must be careful not to slip into the way of pagan Christians.” These are the ones, he said, who are “pagans painted over with two brush strokes of Christianity, so they look like Christians, but are really pagans.” (continued)

CARDINAL BURKE: CHURCH RISKS SERIOUS TENSIONS IN MONTHS AHEAD

Burke has been one of the most outspoken opponents of Kasper’s proposal, saying it is not Catholic, threatens the indissolubility of marriage, and is therefore unacceptable. “The Church must do everything she can when, once again, the integrity of marriage is under attack,” he told the Viennese audience.

The Vatican prelate was speaking in Vienna Tuesday, at the launch of the German translation of Remaining in the Truth of Christ, a book to which he contributed. The work is a response to Cardinal Walter Kasper’s proposal to allow some remarried divorcees to have access to holy Communion. The Catholic Church has always barred such a possibility, based on Christ’s teaching that remarrying after divorce constitutes adultery.
He said he “often heard” prelates at last month’s two-week Synod on the Family in Rome say that because the culture has changed “so radically,” the Church “cannot teach as we had in the past.” But Burke responded by saying such a view betrays a “loss of hope in Jesus Christ, Who alone is the salvation of the world.” He acknowledged that the culture is “very corrupt” but added that doesn’t mean “we go chasing after it, but rather bring to the culture that which will save it and be full of hope.”

Talk of possible schism has increased in the Catholic Church after the recent synod appeared to be leading the Church in a more “progressive” direction on moral issues. A controversial document issued by bishops midway through the meeting (which Burke called a “total disaster”) pointed to radical changes in the area of homosexuals, divorce, and remarriage among other things, but the proposals were largely toned down or failed to reach a consensus in the final report.

Questioned about whether there is a genuine risk the Church might split, Burke said if, in the runup to a second synod on the family next October, bishops are seen to move “contrary to the constant teaching and practice of the Church, there is a risk because these are unchanging and unchangeable truths.” He also pointed out that the head of the synod of bishops, Cardinal Lorenzo Baldisseri, has “identified himself very strongly” with Kasper’s thesis and “subscribes to that school.”

Warning that this battle will continue, he called on Catholics to “speak up and act.” [Full]

The Catholic Church's guiding principle may be summed up, I think, with this.  Jesus Christ said what he meant and meant what he said.

The Supreme Court Really Might
Destroy Obamacare This Time

The court have made their decision, now let them enforce it?

“

November 7, 2014 The Supreme Court is taking up another Obamacare case—one that could devastate the health care law's coverage expansion.

The justices on Friday agreed to hear oral arguments in King v. Burwell, a lawsuit that challenges the insurance subsidies at the heart of the Affordable Care Act. The suit argues that the subsidies—which roughly 80 percent of Obamacare enrollees received—should only be available in a handful of states.

If the Supreme Court ultimately agrees with that logic, more than 4 million people—over half of all Obamacare enrollees—would lose their financial assistance and likely their insurance ... the biggest incentive for other people to get coverage would vanish.
If the challenge succeeds, the consequences for Obamacare would be dramatic: Costs would skyrocket for millions of consumers, likely causing many of them to drop their coverage. The law's central goal—expanding health insurance to low-income Americans—would be severely set back, and at least some of the law's new insurance markets could become unsustainable.

"This lawsuit reflects just another partisan attempt to undermine the Affordable Care Act and to strip millions of American families of tax credits that Congress intended for them to have," White House press secretary Josh Earnest said in a statement Friday.

Just the fact that the high court decided to take the case—and the timing of that decision—is a bad sign for the administration. The Justice Department had asked the Court to hold off on King while a similar case works its way through the appeals process. If the Court had gone along with that request, the administration's hand almost certainly would have been stronger once the issue finally reached the Supreme Court.

"The Court's decision to grant King substantially increases the odds that the government will lose this case," wrote Nicholas Bagley, a law professor at the University of Michigan. [National Journal Continued]

SCOTUS Blog [Symposium: Seven myths about King v. Burwell]  appears to be the basis for National Journal's story, for those interested in nuance.  I am not. The consensus appears to be that Obama will lose this case which will effectively plunge a knife into Obamacare's liver.  But that's not what this is about, this is:
In a popular quotation that is believed to be apocryphal, President Andrew Jackson reportedly responded: "[Chief Justice] John Marshall has made his decision; now let him enforce it!"

If the court rules against the IRS and Obamacare,
what's to stop Obama from issuing an Executive Order reinstating it?  I'm dead serious here.  If he will, for instance, as he threatens, and in defiance of congress, overturn immigration law with a "stroke of the pen," and grant amnesty to a few billion illegal immigrants, why stop there?  And who will stop him?
