Afterlife-Girl/Hollow Tree

I came out of the shower and MoSup (who watches the Today Show for some God only knows reason) says "watch this."  She queues it up to the little girl's story.  Never saw a standing hollowed out tree like that before.

What I'm watching

Four cinema à la carte things

Boon and Limehouse

1) I just watched the penultimate episode of Justified, dammit.  What I like most about this series? It's conglomerated by and with the greatest collection of rat bastard villains ever.  No matter what happens next week, I know for sure that Raylin will  kill that little prick Boon, one of the few of them still alive; I very much look forward to it. We hope that Elstin Limehouse also meets his maker, but don't think that will happen.

2) In the meanwhile Mother Superior and me have settled on BLACK LIST for dinnertime watching. I've seen this around, but thinking it was another Hollywood paean to the Hollywood 10—which treason Liberals are still trying to excuse—I long  ignored it.  It's not.  What NBC did was take  Silence of the Lambs (with James Spader playing a Hannibal Lecter ("Reddington") against Megan Boone's Clarice ("Elizabeth Keen") and mix it with  White Collar.  Spader's character is a combination of  "Neal Caffrey" and "Mozzie."  I'll give Blacklist 4 stars for entertainment value and 3 stars for general fitness. Spader is good. You could do worse.

3) We have one episode left of the previously mentioned "The Affair." Who knew that this was a 10 part series, and this is just season one?  We didn't.  Teriffic acting; Ruth Wilson is a major talent; her breakdown in episode 9 is 10 stars.  But there is a problem.  Because the script and acting are so good, we are drawn into it, and it's frankly exhausting because
I cannot think of a single moment of levity so far.  Consequently, I want to take an anti-depressent after each viewing.  Oh, did I say that all we have seen is only a backdrop to a murder investigation, and that until episode 9 we don't even know who was killed?  Sheesh.

4) Finally, there's Gran Hotel.  Since it's a Spanish production, and MoSup won't watch subtitled movies (because she can't do her puzzles simultaneously), I've watched this one alone.  Gran Hotel (not to be confused with HOTEL, which I've not watched) is a period piece; a poor man's Downton Abby that lacks the production values and characters depth. For me it's "easy listening."  The plot has Spain's Matt Dillon look-alike wrangling a servant's position in the hotel to find out what happened to his
missing sister - well, here. I give Gran Hotel 3 stars;  but secretly I give it 4.5 stars for keeping me interested without pissing me off about something.  Yes, I have developed a crush on Alicia Alarcon

Ignorant? yes—but "Dumbest girl alive?"  She may or may not have voted for (or wanted to) Obama; maybe she's just regurgitating what she learned at school.   Now this young lady leaves us little choice.

So this cop ...

My wife and I went into town and visited a shop. When we came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket.. We went up to him and I said, "come on man, how about giving a senior citizen a break?" He ignored us and continued writing the ticket.

I called him a bad Name. He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn-out tires. So Shirley (my wife) called him a "Dumbbell" He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing more tickets.

This went on for about 20 minutes. The more we abused him, the more tickets he wrote. He finally finished, sneered at us and walked away.
Just then our bus arrived, and we got on it and went home.

We always look for cars with Obama 2012 stickers. We try to have a little fun each day now that we're retired.

It’s so important at our age!!

Obama's really gone overboard this time!

U.S. signed agreement with Mexico and Ecuador to teach immigrants to unionize
The board has said the law's protections for workers engaged in union organizing extend even to people who are not legally authorized to work in the U.S. An employer who fires an illegal immigrant worker — which is required under federal immigration law — can be sanctioned by the board if it decides the worker's union activism was the real reason for the dismissal. Obama: The Prophet's Peg Boy

       WHAT THIS GUMMINT'S HENCHMEN DO

Not a day goes by that I don’t see an attack on Jesus, or His followers – Christians, for those of you in Rio Linda – on twitter, a liberal blog, a libertarian thought leader, any random drawing from a hat of MSNBC personalities, or in print/online newspapers. The attacks vary anywhere between snide remarks, insistence Jesus didn’t exist, insistence He was a closeted homosexual, claims He knocked up Mary Magdalene, and on and on and on.

The implication is clear, if you believe your precious sky fairy had a son and he is your god, then you are clearly not to be taken seriously. You belong to on oppressive cult that wants to hang gays and enslave minority. Also, SCIENCE. BOOM!!

But then, a group of people yelling Allahu Akbar murder someone and the script changes tone and direction to absolutely no one’s surprise.

* I honestly don’t know if Newsweek is operating at a level at which it would actually require anything more than a P.O. Box to receive the invoice bills for putting the rag to print. That said, I didn’t check the Souther Poverty Law Center for their address. I mean, I am sure they are listed as a hate group, right?
The Prophet, who once bested not only a lion but the 40 midget wrestlers who were fighting it – all while teaching subhuman white people algebra, mind you – must not be associated with such extremism done in his name. After all, not only did he create the idea of Democracy itself, he founded to only true religion on peace.

At least that seems to be how this shtick goes. Easter and Christmas, two of the holiest days in Christianity, are a great time to slander all of Christianity and openly mock the core of our beliefs, but it would be an act of unforgivable cultural insensitivity to note that the guys who just massacred a bunch of cartoon artists did so in the name of The Prophet Muḥammad.

In response to this offense to God, Christ, Christianity as a whole, and myself, I have decided not to shoot up people like Jim Clancy of CNN who attempted to blame the Jooooooooooos!! for the attack on Charlie Hebdo. No, I haven’t activated the forces of Christendom to lay siege upon the offices of Newsweek for claiming that Jesus is a myth.* Heck, I haven’t even bothered to yell loudly while shaking my fist at the sky.

Nope, instead, like your average extremist cult member, I drew a picture that properly explains the complicated details of the media’s selective bigotry and the absolute absurdity of the same. Honestly, it is simply enough that even your average liberal is capable of agreeing with it. Well, after they are done being outraged by it. [Red State's Aaron Gardner]

We're at the point in my very humble opinion where the dialectic must turn to the State's war on Christianity, which in the USA is tantamount to war on religion.  So I will be doing that with renewed vigor (e.g. Obama to Catholic Church: Treat Divorced People and Gays Differently Or Else)

Kerry: "If Allah Wills It!"

ASIDE: In a political party rife with ambitious scoundrels & poseurs & thieves & cowards & liars & traitors, John Kerry—a man who I claim, without demurrer, has not once committed a single selfless act—stands atop the Democrat Party's Mount Olympus of Shame.  Another thing for certain is that his campaign-time religion of convenience, Catholicism, hold him in disrepute (see below).  Maybe he thinks Allah has some pull with Pope Francis.  Obama seems to.

2004
A top Vatican official close to the Pope John Paul II, Cardinal Francis Arinze, emphasized today that priests must not give communion to pro-abortion politicians who claim to be Catholic...  The cardinal left no doubt about Kerry by saying that an "unambiguously pro-abortion" politician "is not fit" to receive communion. [Vatican warns pro-abortion Catholic politicians not to take Holy Communion ...]

2013
Cardinal Burke, best known in America for announcing that John Kerry and Nancy Pelosi were bad Catholics “in manifest grave sin” who should avoid presenting themselves for Communion, is being replaced by Washington Cardinal Donald Wuerl, a moderate thinker who doesn’t consider it good pastoral practice to deny communion to anybody, and who better reflects the new attitude Francis seems to be bringing to papal politics.
Pope Francis Demotes Cardinal Who Denied John Kerry Communion

JMJ
ASIDE 2
Poor Cardinal Burke took the rap for Cardinal Francis Arinze's rightful action against Kerry, et.al. Indeed, the case can be made that anyone who even votes for any Democrat is, defacto, an abortion facilitator as guilty as  the others.

Aside 3
I previously voiced my opinion about certain of Pope Francis's, erm, peccadillo's.  As far as Cardinal Donald Wuerl being a moderate thinker ... . Ahem.

OBAMA ROLLBACK

      I GET MAIL

From: Stu Tarlowe/ Skoonj

It's always nice to start the morning with an e-mail from you, even if the subject is what deep doo-doo our nation  continues to slide into.

American Thinker this morning has several pieces about the Obama regime's treasonous foreign policy (which now seems to be going into overdrive); just the titles are revealing:

And then there's Obama's treasonous domestic policy; consider this that one will blow your mind;

It's set in the new "Republic of the Americas" in 2044!  Excerpt:

“Of course these changes were most forcefully brought to fruition by El Presidente Obama, who bravely, and in the face of great adversity, fought to eliminate the concept of citizenship and that most hated tool of oppression, the vote.  He bravely declared in 2014, after the Party lost control of the Senate, that he would represent those who did not vote, and unfairly kept from voting.  The Party constantly fought those who insisted on voter IDs and other tools of oppression,” Miguel added.

Cheers

How I missed another Pulitzer

WHAT REALLY HAPPENED TO HARRY REID?
How I missed another Pulitzer

This is kind of a bummer, but it's my own fault for sitting on it.  Going back to 2006, when it became apparent that Reid was awash in Abramoff Indian Casino money, I really expected that, at best, it spelled the end of Harry's political career.  I mean, the LA Times had already done a series about the Reid 'Crime Family," right?  And later the Times did "A Deal in the Desert for Reid.;" and a whole bunch more.  Who knew that the new rule, "Democrat Crime Is Never Punished" had gone into effect?

So, when after the last election he'd lost control of the Senate, and someone beat the crap out of him  was badly hurt while "performing an exercise on a large rubber band, but when it snapped, it spun him around and sent him flying into his cabinets;" heads bobbed. Nobody, save possibly Snopes, believed that.  Right?

All that was percolating; I had this whole "Good Fellas" mini-series post in my head, about how the Indian casino lobby, pissed off that Reid had not delivered on promises they'd paid millions for, asked for their money back and Reid give them the "finger," like he does to everyone who annoys him, so they put a contract on him.  That was my premise.  So today, with time on my hands, I decided to do it.  And guess what?  The very first thing I see in my initial Google background search was this, from Powerline.  From freaking January! "WHAT REALLY HAPPENED TO HARRY REID?" Crap.  Looks like that prick will get away with it, and I lost another Pulitzer.

Obama does it again

The Muslim Marxist in the White Mosque continues, on a daily basis, to exceed our expectations. Just when you think he can’t get any more lawless, or corrupt, or incompetent, or traitorous, he does. But like he claims to be the case with American’s achievements, he doesn’t do it alone. He’s had massive assistance from the “mainstream” media, the Democrat Party, and to the disgust of patriotic Americans nationwide, the Republican Establishment. [Full "Obama does it again"]

He said feebly to mostly thin air (if it comes down to changing the hearts and minds of them what allowed him to happen in the first place).

So, we're at Sunday Mass ...

CORNY STUFF

This morning. Mass hasn't started yet, so I'm perusing the bulletin.  And quite involuntarily I let out this muffled snort, which muffledness causes a nose bubble; I'm making throat snorts trying to suppress more.    We've all been there, right?  MoSup gives me an elbow, but I can't stand it.  I'm at the point where a full gale of laughter is about to escape, so I get up and walk outside until I had it under control.

Back in the pew MoSup looks at me a "what?" look.  I point to the bulletin and it all comes back again. I'm  hemorrhaging inside, but then mass is beginning and I sober.  After Mass I explain to the wife what sent me off, and she said "What?  It's a game where ... ."  I'm almost hysterical, even now, just writing this.  My understanding of "Corn Holing" is altogether different than hers.  Am I alone here, or what?  I mean think of it.  A Corn Hole tournament! I'm dying here boss.

Wait—I'm reminded of this (which I may have mentioned before) similar thing.  I was an alter boy at St. Francis, and once a month (or maybe once a week?) the entire (grammar) school body trotted over to the church for stations of the cross, a Catholic rite that venerates Christ's crucification agony.  The Priest reads a devotion at each of 14 stations (plaques placed along the church walls), and worshippers respond with a prayer.  There are three altar boys who accompany; Joey Schmidt had the cross, Danny Jankoviac and me were acolytes (candles).  Now, this is a big deal for us altar boys because we are on display before all the girls.

But we know!

We know that when we get to station 13, the phrase "
The Body of Jesus is taken down from the Cross and laid in Mary's bosom" will be uttered.  Bosom. And it wasn't just me, it was all three of us who dreaded it, because we knew we would again have to fight off smirks, let alone laughter.  Principal,  Sr. Margaret Eleanor, would be watching, and God help us if we did.  That's the stage.
When we got to '13' I bent my head down, trying to hide any expression from Sr.M.E.  My head, with hair loaded with some greasy, and very flammable, as it turns out, pomade was torched by the candle!    I didn't know my hair was on fire; I was waiting for "bosom"  to be over, and here's Father Theissen beating me about the head, and I hear gales of laughter from the peanut gallery.  Swear to God, I thought that a smirk had given me away and I was being pummeled for this act of heresy.  I am not making this up.
Bosom and Corn Holes are never mentioned in polite company where I come from.  If you're 12 yrs. old.
