Karma Electric Car Hoax

Fisker Karma Electric Car Gets Worse Mileage Than an SUV

The Fisker Karma electric car, developed mainly with your tax money so that a bunch of rich VC’s wouldn’t have to risk any real money, has rolled out with an nominal EPA MPGe of 52.

Not bad?  Unfortunately, it’s a sham.  This figure is calculated using the grossly flawed EPA process that substantially underestimates the amount of fossil fuels required to power the electric car ... [Full]

Nobody has tested more electric cars than BBC's Top Gear. Admittedly the show is up-front about it's disdain for the "Global Warming" hoax, and that extends to the whole stupid Green movement.  Some of the cars they've tested are pretty damned impressive, although if they were being sold the price would exceed £100,000.  Anyway, it's not just the United States that's delivering crap, as Jeremy Clarkson's test of India's G-WIZ electric showed. (LOL)

1000 Snipers ...

Here's Why Russia Wants To Train A Thousand Snipers

So why the rush? Liz Fuller at RFE/RL hypothesizes that the snipers are being trained for some kind of close-quarters, urban-warfare type situations — which could definitely mass demonstrations or an Arab Spring-type action.

Which leads us to wonder what exactly Russia are expecting...

Read more:

Crack Russian Army
Crack Russian army soldier on maneuvers.
I speed  read "... is hoping to train 1,000 snipers in the next few months.,"  and quite honestly thought it referred to Obama and the SEIU for a second.  Whew.

Of the 16 states that comprised the erstwhile Soviet Union, Muslims were in majority in eight of them. Of those, radical  Chechnya is now Russia's "Iran,"  and hostilities betwixt the two have been ongoing since the breakup. The Russian army is a mess, relatively untrained, undisciplined, and drunk (it seems). So there's that worry, but nuking threats like Chechnya would be more in keeping with a Putinized Russian army, not sniping.

Russia of course is also vulnerable to to a coming world depression.  Economic turmoil  is nourishment to  (O Irony) communist revolutionaries.  Speaking of which, because of our Second Amendment, the American government can count on, oh, let's say 30 million sharpshooting snipers-in-waiting to protect it against communist style urban upheaval.   A desired quality of the sniper is patience—  the ability to lay for hours without moving.   I  (with my Vietnam era brothers)  am well practiced in the art. Remember that satellite that recently was going to drop a 300 pound chunk somewhere - maybe Canada, maybe India, maybe Washington State?

Supposedly, there was "only a 1/3200 chance" that it would injure somebody?  Then, NASA announced that it had fallen to earth, but they didn't know where?  Well, here's the straight scoop.

Ann Coulter still has sharp claws ... .

I love it when she draws blood ....

The worst thing about Occupy Wall Street is that it's ruining a good cause: hating Wall Street. Just when opposing Wall Street was gaining momentum, these brain-dead zombies are forcing us to choose between thieving bankers and them.

If the Flea Party were really concerned about the greedy "Wall Street 1 Percent," shifting money around to make themselves richer and everyone else poorer, their No. 1 target should be George Soros.

Of course, we don't know exactly how much money Soros has, since he keeps all his money in offshore bank accounts protected by Sen. Chuck Schumer (Democrat).

We do know that Soros has been convicted of insider trading. And we know that his general modus operandi is ... http://www.anncoulter.com/columns/2011-10-19.html]

The State of the Union: A Poll
What do Americans really think about Obama and his jobs plan?

"David Axelrod, President Barack Obama's senior campaign strategist, pushed back against negative media accounts surrounding the president's approval rating and said recent polling shows the majority of Americans agree with Obama's plan to create jobs."—CNN

Question: In the past few weeks, a group of peaceful, definitely non-communist, and completely non-anti-Semitic protesters has been quietly gathering on Wall Street and in other once-great cities decimated by the scourge of capitalism to, like the president, object to policies that they say -- and you know -- favor the criminally rich, big banks that charge fees and "interest," bailouts***, and the political party that doesn't run the presidency or the Senate. What is your view of these wholly American protests?

Very favorable: the 99 percent.

Question: What are your impressions of the zealously anti-government tea party?

Unfavorable: 100 percent. Very, very unfavorable: 53 percent.

Romney Down Our Throats

Post Republican debate #94 stuff

Intrade listed Romney’s chances of winning the nomination as almost unchanged at 65.8 percent by 10:30 p.m. after last night's  debate (where everyone piled on his flip-floppy past). Perry’s chances increased 1 percent to 15.5 percent, according to Intrade, while the site suggested Cain’s chances dropped from 9.2 percent to 7.5 percent.

While Romney is the choice of absolutely nobody in my personal orbit, after McCain the ability of the GOP apparatchiks to have their way with us cannot be dismissed.

Laffer on Cain .... .

When Art Laffer speaks ...
Cain's Stimulating '9-9-9' Tax Reform
A new sales tax could be raised in the future—but so can any other tax. And the low marginal rates would jump-start the economy.

Gimme chovies

Still, a number of my fellow economists don't like the retail sales component of the 9-9-9 plan. They argue that, once in place, the retail rate could be raised to the moon. They are correct, but what they miss is that any tax could be instituted in the future at a higher rate. If I could figure a way to stop future Congresses from ever raising taxes I'd do it every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Until then, let's not make the perfect the enemy of the good. - Art Laffer

First, and  hearkening back on the earlier discussion about "who are establishment republicans?," George Will, ahem,  recently opined “We’re having a kind of Andy Warhol primary where everybody is leader for 15 minutes and Cain’s turn."  I suspect George Will's first choice is Mitt Romney, but let's not sling mud.

It just might be that Herman Cain is ascendant because he has a message with substance, oui?  His 999 plan is that in spades (and the obverse of Obama's  666 plan.)   Laffer satisfactorily addressed my concern about the irresoluteness of a national sales tax.  I am now firmly in Cain's camp, and don't hold the 'chovies.

U.S. Troops Will Soon Get Tiny Kamikaze Drone

AeroVironment calls its teeny-tiny killer drone the Switchblade. Essentially a guided missile small enough to fit in a backback and fire at a single foe, it might be the kind of blade U.S. troops soon bring to a gunfight with Afghan insurgents. [Wired]
