Clarkson OUT; Oye!

"Another Fine Mess"

Top Gear producer 'won't press charges' against Jeremy Clarkson

[...]

The physical altercation lasted "around 30 seconds and was halted by the intervention of a witness," said the report's author, Ken MacQuarrie.

As a result, the BBC's director general, Tony Hall, said he would not renew Clarkson's contract.

"For me a line has been crossed," he said on Wednesday. [Full Story]

For them what care, Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson was fired as host of BBC's Top Gear.  He evidently "lost it" and beat the crap out of a BBC producer.  Show producers say they will replace Clarkson and continue Top Gear with a new format.  First, no, they cannot replace Clarkson.  Second, who cares?

There can be no bigger fan of the show than me, but JFC, by now the show is nothing but a parody of itself.  They're re-doing the same "road shows" and there's scant difference between the look and speed of today's cars and those of 2002.  Maybe that was Clarkson's way of putting the show out of its misery.

I don't know what producer Oisin Tymon did to provoke Jezzer, but I suspect he's one of the BBC flaming Liberals  that he detests so much.  Well Done Jezz. I've long felt that you and Richard Hammond are destined to do the movie "Another Fine Mess;" the life story of Oliver and Hardy. Now's the time.

DMSO

Today's Health Adventure

I am certifiable

I may have told this story before, but it had to be way before, so I'll repeat.

Several years ago a friend sold his hardware store in Beckley, WV;  went to Chiropractor school and opened a practice in Florida.  In an e-mail he told me that he was going gangbusters, and able to "cure" better than 50% of his patient's ills with applications of  DMSO (Dimethyl sulfoxide).  Stuff was widely used to treat race horses.  I bought some for MoSup.

She suffers from Rheumatoid arthritis and it was really beginning to affect her life.  This stuff worked PDQ on her feet, from whence her primary complaint.  She also found that by eliminating all red meat from her diet, along with the DMSO, she was a springy chicken again.
That was 30 years ago.  I use it myself from time to time for sprains, etc.

Fast forward.  I have torn meniscus cartilage in my left knee.  Did it around the first of the year.  I didn't know what it was, but it was bad enough that I had to give up doing my 10,000 steps (for Fitbit). Two weeks ago while I was putting some on MoSup's aching neck I thought, "Hey!" Applied some on my knee and there was an almost immediate and noticeable relief, but it stung like hell and caused a very itchy rash.  I bought some DMSO Gel With Aloe ($6.26 from Walmart) and tried that. It still caused some rash, so I applied some emu oil cream (also wondrous stuff) first, and voila.  Yesterday I did  9200 steps.

FWIW.   And yes, I am aware of the controversy about using DMSO.
You're welcome.

Corporate Ambulance Chasers Bitch Slapped

For the Supreme Court to issue a unanimous opinion, legal minds as vastly different as Antonin Scalia and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, must find agreement, as well as everyone in between.

That rarely happens on contentious or unclear issues. Unanimity on the court usually signals that the resulting opinion is a simple application of common sense with which no reasonable person could disagree. This has occurred many times at the Obama administration's expense, but this week the court issued a unanimous opinion that instead puts a key White House ally — the trial lawyer lobby — on the spot.

“But this ruling leaves one less justification for lawsuits by people upset they lost money on a stock.”
In Omnicare v. Laborers District Council, all nine justices agreed that when shareholders sue a corporation for making false statements of opinion in their filings, they must establish that the statements were knowingly false. This may seem like a minor or obscure matter, but the decision nibbles around the edges of an increasingly lucrative (for trial lawyers) field of lawsuits — those brought by aggrieved shareholders, often as class-action cases, when their stock loses value.

In financial markets whose existence depends on everyone's ability to win or to lose money, it isn't hard to understand how enough frivolous lawsuits of this kind could result in disaster. If they become too common, companies will hesitate to go public at all.

More to the point, such suits are frequently filed as a nuisance — a form of legal extortion — in the knowledge that most companies would rather settle than fight. In many cases, they are filed by investors as leverage. A shareholder lawsuit can delay large merger and acquisition deals. The companies being sued can be forced to pay out settlements as ransom so that they can move forward with multibillion-dollar deals. [continue]

Remember the days when the biggest problem our nation faced were the ATLA ( Association of Trial Lawyers of America,  now called *snort* "American Association for Justice")?

Hoosier Daddy?

  TEXT

Da Meztgarino writes:

Anyone who grew up missing a father because of WWII or death or imprisonment or just going down to the corner for a pack of smokes and never coming back is aware of this to some degree.  I was fortunate to have a very experienced grandfather.  He didn't play catch or help me build things, but he was a great and reliable source of wisdom.

My mother married an affable drunk (as opposed to an alcoholic) who DID take me hunting, and fishing, and all that stuff.  He couldn't fix things, but he could find guys who could, and I watched 'em do it.

Still . . . there's that persistent feeling of being different, minimalized, the odd duck . . . especially if you're an only kid who has nobody with whom to commiserate.

cnsnews.com/blog/michael-w-chapman/woman-raised-lesbian-couple-i-ached-every-day-dad

Heather Barwick, who was raised by her mother and her mother's lesbian partner, wrote in an essay this week that same-sex "marriage" is not the same as normal marriage between a man and a woman, that the traditional family is best, and that while growing up she "ached every day for a dad."

Barwick, who is 31 now, married, and has four children, said that "same-sex marriage and parenting withholds either a mother or father from a child while telling him or her that it doesn't matter. That it's all the same. But it's not."

"A lot of us, a lot of your kids, are hurting," wrote Barwick in her essay for The Federalist website. "My father's absence created a huge hole in me, and I ached every day for a dad. I loved my mom's partner, but another mom could never have replaced the father I lost."

"I grew up surrounded by women who said they didn’t need or want a man," said Barwick. "Yet, as a little girl, I so desperately wanted a daddy. It is a strange and confusing thing to walk around with this deep-down unquenchable ache for a father, for a man, in a community that says that men are unnecessary."

Me and sister were lucky; mom married a wonderful man after dad was KIA.  I'm sure there are a hundred stories out there about gay parenting "success."  All I will say is, if I was adopted by lesbian parents—and Heather Barwick was also adopted by them too—and she was, say, a year younger than me—....  Well,  I think we would learn together about the joys of the hetero condition.  When Mom and Doris were out bowling.

Liberal Racism

State Bans Alcohol For Some Frats, But Not Black Ones

NCSU is the latest in a string of colleges to fall into turmoil over the conduct of fraternity members. At the University of Oklahoma, Sigma Alpha Epsilon was abolished over a racist song sung by freshman members. At the University of Maryland, an offensive email surfaced. At Penn State, members of Kappa Delta Rho are facing possible criminal charges for a Facebook page that allegedly contained nude photos of unconscious women. (RELATED: Penn State Fraternity Latest To Get Shut Down)

At NCSU, however, the problem is a simple notebook.

Pi Kappa Phi has placed itself on indefinite suspension and is being investigated after restaurant workers found what appears to be the fraternity’s pledge book. The book is filled with anonymous handwritten comments, many sexual or racial in nature, such as “Man that tree is so perfect for lynching” or “If she’s old enough to pee, she’s old enough to me.” [FULL]

UNITED NATIONS – China’s war on women features forced abortions, the murder of female infants and now a new outrage: radioactive sanitary napkins.

A shipment of more than half a ton of radioactive sanitary napkins made in China was seized at the Beirut airport Friday, the Daily Star reports.

Lebanon Finance Minister Ali Hasan Khalil says the suspect feminine hygiene products emitted a level of radioactivity 35 times higher than is considered safe.

The maxi pads were manufactured by Anion, a Chinese company that claims the radiation is a feature, not a bug. The company’s website refers to the radiation as “air vitamins” that provide “significantly [sic] benefit to human health and daily routine,” the Daily Mail reports.

The Star reported the shipment involved 554 kilograms, or more than 1,200 pounds of products, in about 30 crates.

The Mail explained that Anion claims on its website its product “emits intensive anion stream beneficial to human health in amount up to 5800 for cm2.”

The newspaper elaborated that “ionization happens when atoms are given high-energy ionizing radiation, electrical voltage or high temperature. Atomic nuclei that have been completely ionized are called charged particles and are also radioactive.”

“Poorly Made in China” by Paul Midler has been called “a dramatic romp through China’s export manufacturing sector, one that reveals what really goes on behind the scenes.”

Last month, Lebanon authorities seized a shipment of mobile phone covers that were radioactive.

Boys Using the Girls’ Bathroom... and

Boys are going to be able to use the girls’ bathroom in Georgia.

Churches in Georgia will be denied building permits unless they build unisex bathrooms for the transgendered.

I’m not exaggerating.  The Texas legislature has had to swing into action to roll all that back in Texas.  In Texas!!

How did it happen in Texas?  Well, Texas has a religious freedom law that has an “anti-discrimination” provision.  Once it passed, leftwing advocates went to San Antonio, Plano, Houston, and other places and had the definition of discrimination changed.

Former Rep. Ed Lindsey, Speaker David Ralston, and House Judiciary Chair Wendall Willard support Texas’s version of RFRA.  You will see church pastors subpoenaed, church buildings harassed, and Christians persecuted.  It’s all part of the leftwing plan.

But I know how to fight it
