Obama’s Third-Party History
New documents shed new light on his ties to a leftist party in the 1990s.
By Stanley Kurtz

The New Party

The New Party
In late October 2008, when I wrote here at National Review Online that Obama had been a member of the New Party, his campaign sharply denied it, calling my claim a “crackpot smear.” Fight the Smears, an official Obama-campaign website, staunchly maintained that “Barack has been a member of only one political party, the Democratic Party.” I rebutted this, but the debate was never taken up by the mainstream press.
[...]

Recently obtained evidence from the updated records of Illinois ACORN at the Wisconsin Historical Society now definitively establishes that Obama was a member of the New Party. He also signed a “contract” promising to publicly support and associate himself with the New Party while in office.

[...]

Minutes of the meeting on January 11, 1996, of the New Party’s Chicago chapter read as follows:

Barack Obama, candidate for State Senate in the 13th Legislative District, gave a statement to the membership and answered questions. He signed the New Party “Candidate Contract” and requested an endorsement from the New Party. He also joined the New Party.

Consistent with this, a roster of the Chicago chapter of the New Party from early 1997 lists Obama as a member, with January 11, 1996, indicated as the date he joined. [Obama’s Third-Party History]

The thing is, the New Party was distinct from the Democratic Party.  In fact it was deeply hostile to the mainstream of the Democratic party and even to American capitalism.  Do we use another word for this philosophy boys and girls?  Yes, yes we do.

This also struck me.  As more "new" information about Obama's past is revealed, as will invariably happen, none of it will be without the phrase. "..  sharply denied it, calling my claim a 'crackpot smear'.”

Yay; It;s Coal!

Yay- It's Coal!!

From time to time I like to see what has Democrats Underground in a lather.  I mostly don't get too excited by the goings on there anymore.  I've accepted (truly) that they are an alien people who fell through some wormhole into our culture, or we theirs.  Anyway, it's like looking at a roadside accident as you move by, gruesome, but you have to look.

One of the things that have them agitated is this.

.WASHINGTON - An award-winning coal-mining activist was questioned for 45 minutes by police on suspicion of child pornography after U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn's energy and mineral resources subcommittee decided a photo she submitted of a child in foul bathwater was inappropriate.

Maria Gunnoe of West Virginia had been invited by Lamborn - a Colorado Springs Republican and the subcommittee's chairman - to testify at his hearing Friday on the Spruce Coal Mine in her state. It was the fourth time Gunnoe had been in front of the committee and the second time she had been there at the behest of Lamborn. blah-blah-blah

I don't know about coal mining hearings, but given Obama's war on coal (or any energy production) in the U.S.), it's no surprise that there are hearings.  The DU story paints a a lurid picture of Lamborn and other Republicans ("shows that their minds are right there in the gutter beside their hearts").  Reading from the Congressional record however paints a different picture of  Maria Gunnoe of West Virginia.

."I am Maria Gunnoe from Boone County WV and I (like 100’s of others) help to represent the stories of the Appalachian Communities where coal mining impacts are killing the people  ...

[...]

The Bush Administration sent word to W.Va state Department of Environmental Protection Secretary Stephanie Timmermyer to get these permits pushed through as quickly as possible, In George Bush’s words “We need this coal, our homeland security depends on it.” The coal industry was allowed to do as they please during the 8 years of the Bush Administration.

Then in 2009, in steps the Obama administration’s EPA trying to fix the problems that the Bush administration created and then ignored. ...

One suspects that Ms. Gunnoe also sports a Hawaiian birth certificate (ahem), being as she is so "one" with that wretched man in the White house.  By the by, that photo could be described as inappropriate if presented out of context in Pedo Weekly (although it must be said that some find any child photographs "suggestive").  By making an issue of it however, Rep.Lamborn  changed the focus from the motives of another  left-wing eco-wacko to that silliness.

ASIDE: Another DU concern, and probably the effect of all our selfish carbon dioxiding, is The end of the Milky Way galaxy as we know it

"Now, for the first time, NASA scientists say they know "with certainty" when our beloved galaxy will cease to exist .. in 4 billion years the Milky Way and Andromeda will collide or pass each other by so closely that the gravitational force each exerts on the other will cause them to slow down to the point of merging. The merger will be completed 6 billion years from now. "

God help us if Democrats ever control congress again.  Or the UN prevail.  All our money will go to stopping this.

Three barrels of fun

Tails of the Gun

The "Holy Grail"

Res Ipsa Loquitur

From a story in the Scotsman:
A unique triple-barrelled shotgun made for a Scots aristocrat has been sold at auction for £43,000 (then $66,000). The shotgun - dubbed the "Holy Grail" - was made in April 1891 for John Adrian Louis Hope, 1st Marquess of Linlithgow and the seventh Earl of Hopetoun. The three-barrelled ejector, 16-bore gun, with three triggers, was designed by renowned Edinburgh gun makers John Dickson & Son and is the only one of its kind. Its origins were identified after the gun was taken to a valuing event at Hopetoun House, South Queensferry, and it has now been sold at Holt's auction in London, to a private collector, after fierce bidding from around the world.

Holt's founder, Nicholas Holt, said: "This is completely unique - the holy grail for any shotgun collector. "The gun maker, which still exists in Edinburgh, looked back in their records and found this was the only single 16-bore, round action side by side by side ejector ever made. The mechanism was too complex to make more, but it still works fantastically well today and is capable of shooting three gamebirds with its three barrels."

(Free Republic, where you can also find a "Zombie Apocalypse")
When I spied this picture without explanation,  I was sure them was the 8 gauge barrels of a "coach gun," and I wanted it.   Since it's only a common 16 gauger, not so much.

The Jubilee

Let's not let Wisconsin interfere with the Jubilee you berks

Res Ipsa Loquitur

But enough of my glamorous life. I wanted to talk - once more - about the Queen's Diamond Jubilee since I think it's jolly important that not every post on Ricochet today should be about the results in Wisconsin, delightfully encouraging though they are.

The Queen's Diamond Jubilee. If you're a Royalist like me, your heart will sing at this delightful tribute to the top twenty highlights of the celebrations.

Apart from the terrible weather (God, clearly, is a republican - and, to judge by Wisconsin, a Republican too) which is threatening to kill off the poor old Duke of Edinburgh (who caught a nasty chill, standing in the rain, saluting his wife for four hours), the event was a glorious triumph: an affirmation of national unity and pride in a country which has precious little reason for celebrating either right now.

If on the other hand, you're one of those curmudgeons who took such vigorous issue with my last post on this subject, let me correct a few of your more glaring misconceptions.

1. George III is no longer on the throne. What's more, a lot of us Limeys - myself anyway - are really happy for you that you won the Revolution. When I imagine the Revolutionary wars I definitely think of myself as a minuteman rather than, say, Banastre Tarleton. But hey, guess what: things have changed since 1776.

2. For example, there is nothing tyrannical or remotely oppressive about ...  [Full]

Wow. The Wisconsin recall was a big deal in Britain- and I guess anywhere public sector unions hold sway.   France, your phone is ringing. Oh, that's right.

Obama's America (Language Warning)
Posted by Ann Barnhardt - June 4, AD 2012 8:54 PM MST

Ann, I was probably going to do what I needed to try to survive anyway, but your constant help in posting, helped spur me. So, thank you. I have postitioned myself the best I can, but I know there are some things I can do nothing about. I have no thyroids anymore. Its a long story but I had to have them removed. Now without synthroid in 6 weeks I will be dead. So, what I am trying to say is, no matter how I position myself, when the pharmacy drug pipeline closes during the bad things to come, I won't make it. I have stocked as much as I can, but it won't last forever.... Signed,
    Reader

That's right. In the territory formerly known as the United States of America, before the end of Obama's so-called "first term", middle class American citizens who are dependent on theraputic pharmaceuticals are now actually preparing and planning on dying from lack of access to their needed pharmceuticals in the near future.

Well, Barry. It's "mission accomplished" for you, you evil, Communist son of a bitch.

The comeuppance that these two miserable pieces of shit have guaranteed for themselves is going to be truly epic. I hope I live to see it.

A Bad Boner in the Making?

Holder tries to cut Fast and Furious deal with Boner

The Department of Justice told Republican House leadership in a Tuesday letter that it hopes to reach an agreement with congressional overseers on how much information about Operation Fast and Furious it is required to hand over.

Congressional Republicans have threatened to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress for not fully complying with a 22-part subpoena served last October.

The letter comes amid reports that House oversight committee chairman Rep. Darrell Issa has obtained evidence proving that senior Justice Department officials approved Operation Fast and Furious gunwalking tactics.

Res Ipsa LoquiturThe Justice Department letter was in response to a request Speaker of the House John Boehner, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy and Issa sent in mid-May.

“Following the receipt of your letter, the department has had a number of constructive conversations with staff aimed at satisfying the legitimate goals of congressional oversight while, at the same time, ensuring the integrity and independence of the department’s law enforcement efforts,” Deputy Attorney General James Cole wrote to those congressional leaders on Tuesday afternoon.

Holder and the DOJ, he added, think the GOP leadership’s May 18 letter “was a helpful step toward reaching a resolution of the issues in dispute.”

Reminds me of when the Marines were ordered to negotiate with Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr when they had him on the ropes in Fallujah .  Then had to go back and do it again.  If the French are surrender monkeys, and they are, the the GOP are Bozo the Clown.

Union Fraud Galore in Wisconsin Vote

UPDATE: Fraudulent ballot applications believed found...
"I'm on one of four [Union) buses from Michigan on the way to vote for Barrett ... "

From students using class schedules to "prove" that they live in Wisconsin (but not who they actually are), to multiple accounts of people being "bused" in, dozens of accounts of Democrat and Union attempts to commit voter fraud in Wisconsin have hit the news. One town even has turnout that was reportedly six times the votes normally cast in a "heavy" participation election- and that was at 10:30 am in the morning.

First is a story from Milwaukee, in which students printed out a piece of paper in order to "prove" their identities. Last Friday, on a High School field trip, two teachers and dozens of students voted "during the early in-person absentee balloting period." To prove their identity, they provided a sheet of paper that simply stated the students' alleged names and what classes they might attend. Their date of birth was confirmed not to be on the schedule. Even worse? Milwaukee's Election Commission director Sue Edmond stated that, even should they find out that the students lied about their DOB or who they were, their votes would not be discounted.

Second, Wisconsin voter John Barrett reported that he voted this morning in the town of Norway. According to him, heavy turnout would be around 300, with low turnout in the 90s. Yet, when he voted early in the morning (at 10:30), he was already vote number 1,794:

Third
, and more horrifying, comes this account from the website Free Republic. A voter went in to cast their ballot, yet was faced with a 25 minute wait. After looking around, this person found out that the hold up was due to "non-medical personnel" demanding that elderly people vote for Tom Barrett. The "helpers" were screaming the f-word at the folks and telling them to defecate on themselves. Eventually, they realized that they were being listened to and chased off the voter. But that was after physically threatening them and breaking their phone.

Finally, there is the account that is burning up the internet, particularly YouTube and Twitter. A caller to the Chris Plante Show witnessed unions illegally busing people from Michigan into Wisconsin in order to vote against Governor Walker. You can listen to the call below: [Pundit Press]

Thank goodness Holder is there, eh?  Since voter fraud is a capital offense (isn't it?), he'll have to execute several thousand union people, poor guy.
