RINO Dede Scozzafava's declaration of convenience means nothing, and demonstrates a lack of integrity to go with her liberal bent.  I hope New York Republicans go big for Hoffman, even if the split vote results in a Dem pickup.  Because the Republican Party needs to be  convinced that running RINOs is the road to perdition.  Or face extinction.  As for Gingrich, he signed onto the Global Warming charade.  'Nuff said.

Speaking for myself, short of committing mass suicide,  there is nothing this government could do, suggest, enact, or impose that I wouldn't feel safe to call oppressive, unconstitutional at some level, and criminal.  Like the VAT.  “ On its way out of the recession, the economy may encounter a VAT blocking its way. Last week on PBS's "Charlie Rose Show," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she thinks "it's fair to look at a value-added tax." And the Congressional Research Service just published a lengthy new paper on the value-added tax that tends to obscure the fact that the middle class will bear the majority of its burden.. At a 17% tax rate, for example, he can quickly increase taxes by $1.5 trillion a year in a partially hidden way. A VAT is by its nature hidden, because no one files a tax return. Obama could {most certainly would] also increase the income tax on "the rich," saying that they and the middle class get a nearly free ride under the VAT compared to less affluent people who must spend everything on purchasing "taxable" essentials. Not so, but the VAT lends itself to spin. Mr. Obama and Mrs. Pelosi might also use the VAT to fund "free" government-run medical care and hospitals for everyone, as well as "free" college education and "free" home mortgages. The one certainty about a VAT is its enormous revenue-producing potential. At a rate of 17% to 18%—about average for Europe—it could increase total federal taxes to 30% of GDP or more from 15% now, according to the Congressional Budget Office. ” At the moment I'd support the VAT, if ... The IRS was dismantled entirely The 17% rate was protected by a 90% vote requirement  to increase, and a simple majority to decrease that rate. No exemptions, rebates, exclusions for anyone, for any reason. The VAT  replaces  the payroll, FICA, all medical care taxes, and no additional tax scheme can be imposed for any reason. It would have to be enacted by a congress controlled by Republicans, and Obama's veto overridden else there would assuredly be a poison pill embedded someplace.  Poison for us.

A pox too on Ann Coulter, and others who,  in a cynical act of political expediency,  dismissed it as without merit.  Obama is hiding something; something he feels could have derailed his political career.  So what is it?  While I'm on the subject, I'm very disappointed in World Net Daily, which has almost singlehandedly kept the issue alive.  Joe Farah made a full length documentary that covers every aspect of the case, but instead of posting it, he's selling it.  And just who in hell is going to buy it?  People who already know what's in it, which does not a thing to change minds and advance the issue. The same fate befell The Clinton Chronicles, which in hindsight was spot-on about the Clintons, but kept out of the public domain when  it might have done some good. Of course, there was no You Tube then either.

Recipes Wiki  is what you'd think.  Wait.  I'm now prompted to ask myself what a "wiki?"  is?  It just sort of popped up one day with wikipedia.   [time lapse] Ah, I find that ... “ ... wiki is a type of collaborative software program that typically allows web pages to be created and collaboratively edited using a common web browser. ” The word does conjure a vision of weird naked people dancing around the Stonehenge, praying for guidance from gaia, or Satan. I bet the original guy was one of them, because normal men would have called it "lightning" or "cordite" (Corditepedia?),  because power is in controlling the message.  Where was I?  Recipes Wiki  is sort of like the community recipe book the school band peddled as a fund raiser.  What caught my attention was Over 190 dog food recipes!.   I bet if I go back in a month, there'll be recipes from the Juice.

&So, about the time I'm thinking about watching the Redskins pre-game show yesterday, MoSup decides we have to haul the clothes dryer (I broke by overloading, a whole different story) outside so when the people come with the new one they won't see all the accumulated dirt under it.  So, I disconnected everything, got my hand truck, and we're going down the steps when, with me in front, the thing punched me and I lost control.  It rolled over my sorry-ass, but MoSup, in the trailing position, went head first into the open bottom, where exposed metal framing tried to decapitate her.  I'll finish this picture succinctly. Ambulance Plastic surgeon All-day getting ready for another all-day. MoSup survived with no brain or neck damage, her ear sewn back on, nose fixed. HFS Continued light posting. But here's the good part.  This happened before Obamacare kicked in, or she'd likely go through life looking like Van Gogh and Tycho Brahe.

I have yet to find a person who's aware of the coming mandate to buy into Obama Care --  or face a $1500 fine, and possible  persecution for tax evasion.  This happened in Massachusetts, but it's exactly what every American will face under the Obama-Kennedy plan.  For starters. “  What happens ... But IBM, with its typical courtesy, informed us recently that we will be fined by the state. Why? Because Massachusetts requires every resident to have health insurance, and this year, without informing us directly, the state had changed the rules in a way that made our bare-bones policy no longer acceptable. Unless we ponied up for a pricier policy we neither need nor want—or enrolled in a government-sponsored insurance plan—we would have to pay $1,000 each year to the state. My husband's response was muted; I was shaking mad. We hadn't imposed our health-care costs on anyone else, yet we were being fined ("taxed" was the word the letter used). We've spent much of our lives putting away what money we could for retirement. We always intended to be self-sufficient. We've paid off the mortgage on our home, don't carry credit-card debt, and have savings in case of an emergency. We also have a regular monthly income of about $3,000, which includes an IBM pension. My husband, 61, earns a little money on the side, sometimes working as an electronics consultant on renewable energy projects. I'm 58 and make some money writing science books.
