Turds ahead Cap'n

In the Democrat-held Senate McCain is the ‘model prisoner’

It is now clear that Sen. John S. McCain III (R.-Ariz.) has completed his transition from being the Senate’s “maverick” to becoming the upper body’s model prisoner.

McCain was livid. He was so livid that the next morning he and Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (R.-S.C.) came to the floor to denounce Paul and the other senators in the filibuster as “whacko birds.”
It is not just that McCain is a snitch, running to the press or the Senate floor, whenever a rebellious conservative disturbs the good order and discipline of upper chamber. The son and grandson of Navy admirals now meets in secret with the warden, Majority Leader Harry Reid (D.-Nev.), to cook up new ways to undermine and thwart conservatives.

McCain was always a sketchy character. But, what really turned him into the warden’s pet was the worldwide phenomenon of Sen. Randall H. Paul (R-Ky.) filibustering the on the Senate floor from just before lunch March 6 until 12:30 a.m., the next morning. [
]

Nobody expects different behavior from McCain, so he's pretty much just another turd in the alley.  But. The more I think about it, the more I'm inclined to believe that McCain picked Sarah Palin because he knew he was going to lose, and wanted a weak VP on the ticket he could blame.  Instead, picking Palin may be remembered as his only accomplishment, or  noble thing the man did in his entire public life.

Radio news this morning centers on Baltimore's out of control violent crime. So,  the outraged citizenry are demanding the right to carry, right?  No, not right.  They are demanding a "stop and frisk" law,  similar to NYC's that was just declared unconstitutional. Typical.  Like every single other enclave that's been ruled by one (in particular)  party for 50 years plus, Baltimoron's first instinct is to cede more of their freedoms to government instead of demanding a constitutional right to bear arms and self protection.

Since Obama played a pivotal role in the Muslim coup to begin with, this would make perfect sense.  Obama is after all a control freak, and who better to be your coordinator than your own brother?

The GOP seemed to have chosen Jeb Bush as their '16 nominee, so evidently there are those in the GOP hierarchy who don't think he can beat Hillary.  The Clintons think they have Obama's support, but know him well enough to be prepared for intrigue. Remember all the leaks about Barry's "birth right" that surfaced during  his duel with Hillary?  Obama does, and we all know whom the number one suspect was, don't we?

Christie, began currying favor with Obeelzebub by campaigning for him during the 2012 campaign.  While New Jersey was a real toss-up state.  And when Obama's name was MUD.  It was an epochal moment for him; even Ann Coulter began apologizing for her early swoon.  Christie then is the perfect GOP candidate, and will likely beat Jeb for the New York Times endorsement if he gets traction  The Times is critical, having selected every GOP nominee since 1988, based on their guess of who is likely the easiest to beat.

Well, no.  All he's done is step up the plate with a bat. But that  at least,  is a baby step.  If he actually swings and gets some hits, give me a call. CONNECTIONS
Many Questions surrounding ...

Al Jazeera America is the most ambitious American television news venture since Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes started the Fox News Channel in 1996. It faces some of the same obstacles that Fox eventually glided over — including blanket skepticism about whether distributors, advertisers and viewers will give it a chance. But that is where the parallels to other channels end, because Al Jazeera America is going against the grain of seemingly every trend in television news.

“Viewers will see a news channel unlike the others, as our programming proves Al Jazeera America will air fact-based, unbiased and in-depth news,” said Ehab Al Shihabi, the channel’s acting chief executive, on a news conference call last week. He was explicit about what will be different, saying, “There will be less opinion, less yelling and fewer celebrity sightings.” [New York Times - Al Jazeera America Promises a More Sober Look at the News]

Kennedy's "pound of flesh"(in 1988) was to illegally use his power to get even with Rupert Murdoch for publishing a series on the Res Ipsa Loquitor1969 Chappaquiddick incident, and referring to him as "Fatso."   Kennedy's maneuver was cloaked in the argument that it was not in America's interest to have one man wielding so much media  influence.  If memory serves, Murdoch reached agreement to keep the Post by selling some television stations he owned.  What brings this to the forefront today is Al Gore's sale of his defunct Current cable property to al Qaeda— I mean al Jazeera—the public outlet for al Qaeda.

Excuse me, but would it be unfair to draw a parallel to that and, say, if  the NY Daily News was sold  to the German National Socialist Party in, say, August 1939?   Before Hitler had formally declared war on the world, but not before everyone (with half a brain) knew it was coming?  In this case, world Islam have formally declared it's intentions against non-believers. War! And we give them this platform?  Who are today's Ted Kennedy to raise the alarm, he said fatuously?

As an aside, the sentence "One of the many questions surrounding the Kennedy-Hollings midnight maneuver ... "jogged this connection from my "Defining Articles section [Democrats subvert war intelligence]

Res Ipsa Loquitor

Res Ipsa Loquitor
A major South Korean retailer has opened what it appears to be the world's first virtual store geared to smartphone users, with shoppers scanning barcodes of products displayed in a Seoul subway station. Homeplus, the nation’s second largest discount chain, is offering 500 items including food, electronics, office supplies and toiletries at its "store" at Seolleung station in the south of the city of 10 million.

Seven pillars and six platform screen doors have been plastered with images of life-size store shelves filled with goods -- such as milk, apples, a bag of rice or school backpacks -- which each carry a small barcode. Shoppers download a related application on their smartphone and make purchases by taking photos of the barcodes. [FULL]

In this model the items are home delivered.  I looked into doing this ten years ago with local businesses.  My plan was to photograph the entire store, mapping images with price and item info,  which allowed peeps to shop on line.  I would charge the store for the service and monthly maintenance .  Where the plan went awry was the execution.  I didn't.  But there was a reason.  It was an overwhelming task, and one that had to be updated quite regularly.  Yes, I could have mortgaged the house, sold a few of the kids and hired people, but I couldn't be bothered.  I'm an idea man, not a long term worker bee.

Anyway, this is an idea that is here to stay.  The local Giant Food stores toyed with some deal where the shopper carried around a device that recorded items as they were carted.  The checkout (but not the bagging) was instantaneous.  As much as I like gadgets, I never tried it, nor did I ever see anyone else using the little price gun thing, but they will not stop trying. This looks like it would work for them nicely in some areas.

The biggest boon, I think, is for the small business entrepreneur.  With no need for brick and mortar (rent), almost anyone can sell anything they have in stock and can deliver- even pizza.  All this of course would require giving government the right to access everything about your every electronic transaction so they can tax it.  Wait.  Obama is already doing that.

COFFEE MACHINES

TECHNO THRILLS

Mr Coffee

Res Ipsa Loquitor Well, that's over.  We had a neighbor and friend who was celebrating his 70th B-day yesterday,  and I elected to do a video  life story.  Took 40 hours to do 10 minutes of tape.  Bur that's not what I'm wanting to tell you about.

With a house full of company,  our coffee maker quit.  It was a Frigidaire piece of crap that  I bought from Woot a few years ago.  One of those deals where they try to add so many bells and whistles that you can scarce make coffee.  It was 1100 watts though.  I tell you that because as near as I can tell, the only variable in making coffee in one of these machines is the water temp.  We ran out and bought this Mr. Coffee at Kohls (for $79.95)
1300 watts.  It has a feature I really liked on our old  Black and Decker machine, a removable water tank.  Anyway, this is the bottom line.

Been using Seattle's Finest coffee for quite a while,  so have pretty good tongue memory of what it tastes like.  The coffee made in the new machine,
using one ounce for 8 cups, is so superior to what we're use to that I am quite blown away.  And not just me.  All the guests volunteered the same thing.  Only thing I can think of is the 1300 Watts.  And the possibility that Frigidaire was a massive liar about being1100 watts?  Also, this morning I was going to heat the remains of yesterday's coffee for a quick cup before church.  Guess what? The coffee was still hot.  Not real hot, but warmer than warm.

You're welcome.

After Oprah’s antics lately, I side with the girl in the store. Evidently, Oprah pulled crap like this right before a movie she had coming out. And she has a movie now. What a coincidence.

But nothing can top the bullshit that happened in Missouri this week. There was a rodeo clown with an Obummer mask and the world went batshit crazy. Rampant racism in Missouri. Turns out there was a “mixed race” couple in the audience and they were offended. Yannow, there is sumpin’ in the Constitution called freedom of speech. Maybe y’all heard of it. It’s right there in the First Amendment. What I cannot find in the Constitution is someone’s right to not be offended. I’m offended that we got whiny ass people who get offended at the drop of a hat.

Do y’all remember when Bush was president? Yannow, the guy that the libs called Chimpy or Bushitler? Did you know that there was a rodeo clown who wore a Bush mask? No big outcry there. Putin v Obummer

KULTURE - WHOM DO YOU ADMIRE MORE?

Res Ipsa Loquitor I've lately come across a  "conservative Americans admire Putin" meme (deliciously pictorialized HERE).

Didn't  read any of the articles, probably because I could see why without.   Let's be clear; Putin is at heart still a Communist KGB assassin who has rivals liquidated.  Still, he has leadership qualities that no Democrat politician in over 50 years have come close to exhibiting.   Although Obama similarly attempts to theoretically (and possibly in a real sense, ahem) "liquidate" anyone who threatens  him;  this is America, not Nazi Germany or Stalinist Russia. So,  if you don't by now fear and despise Obama, there's something terribly wrong with you.

By the by, I did look at The leftist Daily Beast's lede.  They reason that Putin's popularity amongst Americans is much simpler to understand:

"Thirty years ago, American conservatives declared Russia the enemy. But now that Putin has declared war on gays, the religious right is in full support of its freedom-limiting tactics. By James Kirchick."

More SEAL TEAM SIX STUFF

AHEM

Res Ipsa Loquitor

I was running about this morning,  making the rounds of various duty and doody stations while somewhat listening to WCBM in the background.  On air was a father of one of  the Seal Team 6 members killed in the the Chinook helicopter crash.  This is not a transcript, but excerpts from other sources that include some of what he claimed.  Stuff I wasn't aware of.

[...] Shortly before the CH-47 Chinook helicopter took off on a rescue mission (operation Extortion 17), seven Afghan commandos who were on the passenger list were replaced by other Afghan military officials.

It remains unclear why the manifest was incorrect, raising red flags among the victims’ families. They have noted that their sons didn’t trust Afghan soldiers. One was quoted as saying, “They are loyal to the highest bidder.”

In the transcript related to the Pentagon’s probe, a Defense official confirmed that all seven names of the Afghan soldiers were incorrect.

The official said, “I cannot talk to the back story of why…” before being interrupted by another Department of Defense employee.

The Chinook was shot down by Afghan militants, and all 38 on board perished.  Among the dead were 30 Americans, including 22 Navy SEALS (some Seal Tem Six), seven Afghan soldiers and one Afghan translator. Their bodies were later recovered, but the helicopter’s black box was not. Pentagon officials have said that it could not be recovered, citing a flash flood that happened soon after the assault.

All the bodies were cremated. The Pentagon has defended the cremation to the soldiers’ families, saying the bodies were badly burned.

Chaffetz, however, said he has seen a photo of a deceased SEAL that was not.

“The body I saw didn’t need to be cremated,” Chaffetz said [full]

The dad further alleged that his and other Seal family homes had been "infiltrated," and family papers shuffled through.  He feels someone was looking for letters home that carried details of the bin-Laden raid.   In addition,  this was made possible because, in his words, "Eric Holder and Biden allowed the names and home addresses of Seal Team Six members to be made public."

It's impossible to confirm rumors that all but one of the Seals on the bin-Laden mission are now dead, but it has been confirmed that some of them were on this helicopter, and that "insurgents were boasting on the Internet they had taken out Team 6 shortly after the helicopter crashed.

This so closely parallels  the Benghazi team cover-up that my head is spinning.  There are not isolated incidents involving this Administration, which makes this sort of  rubbish bitterly outrageous.!
