Q. Would you shoot a rabid dog about to bite your child?

The Right Thing

I would agree to shoot dead any American who I knew with certainty had joined ISIS

Hours before his fatal encounter with anti-terrorism officers, Usaamah Rahim told an associate he was switching from plans to behead a conservative blogger to assaults on the "boys in blue."

Rahim, who officials believe was radicalized by ISIS, referred to his planned act of jihad against police officers in coded language -- "going on vacation," he said, according to an FBI affidavit.

The 26-year-old security guard's so-called vacation ended in a hail of bullets Tuesday. FBI and Boston police officers tailing him suspected he was about to launch an attack. An associate, David Wright, 25 ... Blah-Blah Blah

ISIS in the United States.  There is no doubt, no argument, and no pasty-face denial that any American recruited by ISIS understands that he/she is expected to kill American citizens on American soil in the most horrific way possible.  ERGO, I am proposing that any known recruit be put on wanted dead or alive status.  See him... Kill him.

Last women wash out of Ranger School
Biology: 1 Political Correctness: 0

[...] For those who aren’t familiar with the course, it is 61-days of intense stress, sleep deprivation, lack of food and any other item that could conceivably make life at the bottom of Maslow’s Heirarchy not a challenge, and general suck. The graduation rate is a [deleted]-hair above 50% but this masks the fact that 37% of all graduates have to repeat at least one phase. So 61-days is really a best case and most graduates spend closer to 75-days in the course. One of my officers started the course three times before finally completing it as distinguished honor graduate.

One hardly knows what the Army was thinking. If physical standards aren’t radically changed for women, and Bruce Jenner isn’t in the class, human physiology in terms of muscle mass, weight, bone structure, and upper body strength indicate that few, if any, birth-women (I guess we have to start using this now to be clear) can pass the program. Personally, I was betting the Army would fold like a cheap suit. When the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff says:

“Importantly, though, if we do decide that a particular standard is so high that a woman couldn’t make it, the burden is now on the service to come back and explain to the secretary, why is it that high? Does it really have to be that high?”

The remaining eight female Ranger School candidates failed the first phase of the U.S. Army’s elite infantry program, the Army said in a statement late Friday. Of the eight women, five were kicked out of training. Three others will be allowed to start over from the beginning of the first phase of Ranger School. Those three will start class on June 21. The Army said in a statement that 29 students failed to meet the standards of phase one, also known as the Darby Phase. A vast majority of the students who are being dropped from the course were unable to successfully lead a patrol. All students received multiple opportunities to lead a patrol as a squad or team leader, the Army said.
And, of course, the reason we would be questioning that is that any woman’s career is much more important than any number of bodies left strewn about a battlefield.

Much to my surprise, the Ranger cadre have held firm to the macro-standards. Of the 19 women in the first class, eleven did not complete the first four days, the Ranger Assessment Program — what used to be known as City Phase, of the course. At the end of the Darby Phase, the remaining eight women were recycled having failed to meet the standard necessary to move on to Mountain Phase at Camp Frank D. Merrill in Dahlonega, Georgia. At the end of the recycle period, five of the remaining eight women were dropped from the course. Three were allowed to start with a new class from Day One. This would entail retaking the Ranger Assessment Program.

[The full SNAFU]

Don't even start.  There is nobody on this blog who loves women more than me, but puh-leeez!  I am forever and  adamantly against throwing our women into combat roles for the obvious sexist (yes, it is technically sexist) reasons—which necessitate letting women cadets at West Point parade with lightweight wood replicas of the rifles the man carryas I'm told they did; and all the rest the the Patsy Schroederization We Are Woman crap.  But even more importantly, cloistering women with men on long combat tours, especially aboard ships, creates unnecessary tensions plus morale and disciplinary problems.  You know very well what I mean. We don't have to so this.

The worm turning ...

a major award

For years, conservatives have railed against the suppression of free speech and increasing authoritarianism on college campuses — and they've been largely written off by the liberal establishment in academia.

Schlosser's fear and Kipnis' reality come at a time when colleges are swimming in "trigger warnings" and "safe spaces," which have become necessary to protect students so sensitive that they can't bear to have their worldview challenged or face anything that might remind them of some difficult past experience. It is no longer the responsibility of the student to get herself help for trauma so severe she can't read classic literature; no, the current culture puts the onus on everyone else to tiptoe around for fear that someone, somewhere will be offended.
But now, the culture that has been cultivated by liberal ideologues has turned against them, and they're fighting back.

The latest example comes from professor Edward Schlosser (a pseudonym), who wrote an article titled: "I'm a liberal professor, and my liberal students terrify me."

"The student-teacher dynamic has been re-envisioned along a line that's simultaneously consumerist and hyper-protective, giving each and every student the ability to claim Grievous Harm in nearly any circumstance, after any affront, and a teacher's formal ability to respond to these claims is limited at best," Schlosser wrote.

[...]Schlosser notes that such personal experiences have now replaced due process and the scientific method as acceptable analyses. "All that matters is that people are allowed to speak, that their narratives are accepted without question, and that the bad feelings go away."[...]

[a college revolution cont .. ]

"The Modern Liberal will invariably side with evil over good, wrong over right, and the behaviors that lead to failure over those that lead to success. Give the Modern Liberal the choice between Saddam Hussein and the United States, and he will not only side with Saddam Hussein; he will slander America and Americans in order to do so. Give him the choice between the vicious mass murderer corrupt terrorist dictator Yasser Arafat and the tiny and wonderful democracy of Israel, and he will plagiarize maps, forge documents, engage in blood libels--as did our former President Jimmy Carter-- to side with the terrorist organizations and to attack the tiny democracy of Israel." - Evan Sayet

"...and they will be the first ones shot  by them after the revolution." Evan Sayet

"Schlosser's decision to come forward (at least anonymously) comes after Northwestern University professor Laura Kipnis was accused of violating a federal discrimination law for writing about the sensitivities of today's college students.'s decision to come forward (at least anonymously) comes after Northwestern University professor Laura Kipnis  .... "

Makes me wonder if the anonymous professor Schlosser might be Weather Underground terrorist Bernardine Dohrn (Mrs. Bill Ayers)  who taught  at Northwestern?

NEWS IQ TEST

Udder Berks

Via Ron Metzger

This is a terrific test. And it shows results in a number of ways. It surely indicates that the majority of Americans don't know what's going on.

It's astonishing that so many people got less than half right. The results say that 80% of the (voting) public doesn't have a clue, and that's pretty scary.

There are no tricks here -- just a simple test to see if you are current on your information.     This is quite a good quiz and the results are somewhat shocking.

Test your knowledge with the challenge of 12 questions, then be ready to shudder when you see how others did:  If you get less than half correct, please cancel your voter registration.

Click here: Test Your News IQ - Pew Research Center

Well, it's a current affairs drill, not an IQ testbut still interesting.  I said Malala Yousafzai was a Hollywood film star, and that was wrong.  But, are the results all that surprising?  I mean, Jay Leno pretty much had us prepared.

Chipotles Pigs and Football

Yup, they photoshopped Ben Skowronek, a 3-star wide receiver from Fort eryone likes Chipotle, but young people like it even more than they like neon tank tops and cell phone apps that only do one thing each. Every other restaurant wants to be like Chipotle because of this.

Chipotle has set up shop near just about every college campus because campuses have lots of young people, in my opinion. Colleges can brag about this because colleges are also in the business of marketing to young people.

And nobody's more in the business of marketing to young people than college football teams are. How long will it be until a college football team tries to woo a recruit based on how near its campus is to a Chipotle? Yeah, that's already happened.

Since Chipotle proximity is now a competitive factor for football programs (shhhh, of course it is), it's time to rank all of FBS, based on Chipotle.com's listings and Google Maps. All 128 teams and the in-limbo UAB are included, and you can type your conference's name to narrow the list.

We have a Chipotle nearby; it's where we go most when we want fast food that's not pizza.  Last week we stopped in for some taco salad.  A sign on the front door warned "SORRY, NO CARNITAS."  I always just ask for pork, so I sort of assumed carnita was Messican for excluding people not wearing a shirt. Once inside another sign cleared that up.
No Carnitas
"We are presently unable to find a source for responsibly raised pork."

* responsibly raised pork?*

All the images flashing through your mind right now about piglets in diapers? .. I see them.  And the  three legged pig joke too.
And, somewhere,  there arehave to beresponsibly pampered avocados being raised; how else explain Chipotle's $2.50 charge for a dollop of guacamole on your carnita?

Lately, people at the liquor store have been saying (churlishly),  "Say Rodge!  Are you doing a Blog or what?"  I say yes, why?  They say, "because you'd never know it. " I say, that's because I noticed that the really good condimentrists, like Ann Coulter, only do one column a week; but that column is always special.  The topics are timely, the satire delicious, and facts are aways at least 99% factual; and I agree with everything because it makes sense!"  So they say, "Okay, so where's your weekly column?"

Good point.  Here it  is.

Lately I've had a good deal of problem dealing with these people.  The people who are in the news.  All of them.  All the Democrats and most of the Republicans are skunks and liars. They should all be shot.  And not just them.  If I was the leader I'd go into every prison and if an inmate had a gang tattoo I'd have them shot because gang tats are only "worn" by people who've killed someone; so they're guilty. And I'd shoot everyone in the media too, except for some.  I mean it.

And from now on colleges will only be able to field teams which members are from their state.  The facts are there to support me.

And what's this where we are plagued by endless special interest groups that subscribe to one cockamamie idea or another?  These people, who are freaks, and who in olden times were just ignored, or openly ridiculed or shot.   Now, if you criticize them, you're the bad guy.  Screw them .  The facts will support me in this.

I didn't mention the guy in the White House  because it makes me ill to think about him being there.  He's a liar and a crook and I'd arrest him.  And I'd fire Mike Krusheschkee the Duke coach for being a liar and a cheat.

All girls would have to produce an intact hymen before they are  allowed to register to vote. No more screwing around; it's how out founding fathers wanted it. We need to get back to basics.

The NRA will be in charge of gun laws since they at least know how to handle firearms; like our founding fathers.

Muslims are allowed but only if they promise to convert to Christianity; all the rest will be deported. And drones are illegal.  Flat tax of 11%.  IRS abolished.  Okay.

This is not satire.  I mean it.

Buffalo Blue Cheese

I bought Wish Bone Buffalo Blue Cheese dressing on closeout at the Giant a few months ago.  Turns out this is great stuff, although I've yet to use it on a salad. Great dabbed onto nachos, sammiches, or anything, really, where you want a to kick things up.  Problem is, since it was on closeout ... . But, Giant still carries the "Low Calorie" version.  Haven't tried it yet, but if it's not up to standard I'm sure I will find it at Food Lion, or somesuch.  Just a simple little pleasure in my life.

Coals to Newcastle

"To carry Coals to Newcastle, that is to do what was done before; or to busy one's self in a needless imployment."

The Circle of Jerks went blind the other day over a quote from Scott Walker about ultrasounds prior to an abortion being “cool.” The Politico ran it. Various left leaning journalists circulated it. It’s as if they had an email server and they all descended at once with their stories printed on kleenex.
The only problem is that the story was made up. Some of the lefty journalists refused to retract their stories even after the quote was proven to be fabricated. It just fit their narrative too well.
Now comes another one and this time it involves Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 100%. Cruz opposed an aid package for Hurricane Sandy. But now he is supporting an aid package for Texas floods. The left-leaning New York Daily News swung into attack mode and with it came the very same “journalists”who had attacked Scott Walker. But, like with Walker, they got their keyboards sticky and their story completely wrong.
Legal Insurrection has the complete play by play. The issue here is that no one in the Circle of Jerks has the ability to nuance. They go straight for the release as quickly as possible and leave out every detail imaginable that does not fit their narrative.
For example, the Texas flooding happened this week. The Hurricane Sandy aid package was formulateda month after the hurricane hit. It was not emergency spending by any stretch of the imagination.
Next, Cruz was not alone in his opposition to the Sandy package because  .... http://www.redstate.com/2015/05/28/the-circle-of-jerks-turns-from-scott-walker-to-ted-cruz/

“The difference between Bush’s mistakes and his disappointments may just be that he hasn’t yet taken ownership of the latter,” Massimo Calabresi wrote in Time as he covered President George W. Bush’s final press conference in January of 2009. Four years earlier, left-wing journalist John Dickerson had begun a trend among the Bush White House press corps, demanding from the President a recognition of his mistakes.

Dickerson, now like George Stephanopoulos, plays an objective Sunday news program questioner and he, along with the circle of jerks who pose as objective reporters of the Obama Administration, would rather blame George W. Bush for ISIS, and not Barack Obama. But, objectively, in 2009 as George W. Bush left the White House, the surge had worked, Iraq was stabilizing, Iran was on the sidelines, and ISIS did not exist.

When Barack Obama entered the White House, he had made a campaign promise to get out of Iraq. On July 14, 2008, then candidate Barack Obama wrote in the New York Times, “We can safely redeploy our combat brigades at a pace that would remove them in 16 months. That would be the summer of 2010 — two years from now, and more than seven years after the war began.” Politifact, which once attacked those who said President Obama was lying with his claim that you could keep your doctor only to then declare the President’s claim a lie, has never wavered from declaring President Obama has stuck to his Iraq withdrawal plan.

In fact, the Obama Administration was so intent on withdrawal, it is now both documented and accepted as fact that the Obama Administration ran from negotiating an agreement to keep American troops in Iraq. Dexter Filkins, writing in the New Yorker’s April 28, 2014, issue, documented our disastrous withdrawal.  This Way Comes

At the beginning of this year, President Obama referred to ISIS as junior varsity. Later in the year he declared them amateurs. Less than three weeks ago the President said he had no strategy to combat ISIS. Less than two weeks ago, President Obama referred to the non-ISIS rebels in Syria as farmers incapable of leading the resistance against ISIS. This past Wednesday night, President Obama’s bold new strategy is to arm the very rebels he says are incapable of leading resistance to ISIS.
But who are the rebels? They are people who have been in a civil war against the Syrian government. But from the rebels have also come loyal foot soldiers for ISIS. How does the President know the rebels will not use our weapons and funds to fight Syria instead of ISIS? Likewise, how does the President know some of the rebels will not take our weapons to ISIS?
More troubling, how does the President know these rebels will not turn on us? And is it not possible the Syrian government and ISIS may now make an alliance of convenience to rapidly and jointly crush the rebels? The sad truth is Barack Obama knows the answers to none of those questions, but wants Congress to approve sending arms and training to the rebels anyway. More DOOM! from the polls.

Delivering fresh state of affairs commentary anymore is ... you know.

Vivint Solar Update

People With Glass Roofs ....
This is an update to my previous post about our free solar panel deal.  Tuesday night we were having dinner when  Vivint Energy Consultant (our salesman) Weston Marlowe stopped by for a follow-up.  Impressive after sale response, and we appreciated it.  His phone number is 757 329 0115; e-mail weston.marlowe@vivintsolar.com.  If you (from any state) want to look into, or have questions answered about how this program works, feel free to contact him.

WTFF!?

What a  disturbing the development ...  I'm watching ESPN's  A Football Life_John Riggins that I recorded overnight.  Amazingly when I try to skip through the commercials like I always do it wouldn't do it !  Remember- this is recorded on my DVR, and once the commercial ends I can FF through the story. Have they figured out a way to keep people from skipping through commercials?  This has got to be Verizon allowing this.   What a revolting development.

Voice dictation sent from my Ipad.

UPDATE
This afternoon I was able to FF the commercials.  Another Verizon FIOS anomaly I reckon.

DECLASSIFIED DOCS: HILLARY AIDED RISE OF ISIS
Confirm reports of U.S. arming Middle East jihadists

I saw that headline; HILLARY AIDED RISE OF ISIS; and remembered a comment I read earlier in the week.

"I read this and I think I must have slid into a parallel universe where history does not exist. Because not that long ago, I blogged on the same issues based on a TIME Magazine story titled  ...."  Liberal angst on the civil-military divide. Part 1000 by  Erick Erikson

Indeed, no sentient human can have escaped similar feelings when the owned media suddenly find it convenient to belatedly report an old story in order to reverse some political polarity (like reporting decades old Hillary crimes because they are now backing Obama); or because it had become impossible to ignore the elephant in the china shop (like Clinton's impeachment crimes).

We knew via news reports after the Benghazi terror attack, on September 11, 2012, that Hillbat and boss had mucked things up, again, and were hiding documents under the carpets.  Here's a snippet from a year old report about
how how Obama birthed ISIS.

Administration policy has fanned the rebellion in Syria and kept it going for three full years, while doing nothing to bring it to a successful close. Sometimes the administration has explicitly tried to keep the rebels in a stalemate with Assad; Secretary of State Kerry said that it was his policy to do just that, in order to promote negotiations and “peace.” The result, so obvious as to make that statement a shameless Orwellianism, has been to keep the war dragging on.

This has provided the hothouse for the growth of the extremist Islamic State. In due course, it spilled over from Syria into Iraq, and it has issued threats against the American homeland. The Obama-Kerry policy has also made for the more than 190,000 deaths in Syria, 500,000 wounded, and 8 million refugees (more than 2 million abroad, 6 million inside Syria) — this, out of a population of about 22 million. [How Obama Caused ISIS; August 27, 2014]

So, everyone without blinders on saw the danger. And  now this: ISIS Leader Admits: We Are Being Funded By The Obama Administration

Gird your loins.  I foresee a scenario where Martin O'Malley, a known Obama peg boy, and almost certainly the Dems 2016 nominee, will start pinning some blame on this administration (mistakes were made).  If he plays to form though, he'll find a way to show how it was all Bush's fault.
