A $60 Bidet

Perfect Gizmos and Gadgets

The Shiney-Hiney

Res Ipsa Loquitur

I bought this last week from Sellout Woot.  It was $59.95 with free shipping and no tax. It arrived two days after order, and I had it installed and percolating in less than 30 minutes.  It appears to be very sturdy, and is simple as 1-2-3 to use. Which is important.  This was my first experience with a bidet, and  had only an idea of what to expect.  The reasons I bought it are, in order:
  • It's a gadget
  • It will give me the cleanest nether region in the land
  • It will save money (I haven't used so much as a square of TP since the first "white glove" inspection passed muster).
  • If I ever break both arms, or become infirm, I won't have to call the neighbors over for help to, you know.
As you can see, Brondell sells several models that cost up to $600.  Speaking for myself, there are no additional features on any that interest me.  I'm at the point where I want my appliances with one switch.  On.  Off.  The portable Shiney-Hiney (as I will call it) pretty much fits that description. and it works swell.  I know what you're thinking.  "Rodge, is the spray powerful enough to handle a manly man?  Let me tell you, at full strength you can etch designs on your sphincter,  if that's something that appeals to you.  It's the best thing I've bought since the George Foreman grill.

You're welcome

Who Castrated Ann Coulter?

Who Castrated Ann Coulter?

(JJ from Good Times) Evidently size does not matter

Roll-Over

... something has happened to Coulter. I don't have firsthand knowledge that she was kidnapped by RINO Team Six and taken to an offshore medical facility where she was forced to undergo a gruesome surgical procedure, but many of her recent columns suggest that something of the sort must have occurred. What else could explain her endorsement of Mitt Romney?
[...]
Her inexplicable support for Romney has led her beyond being merely wrong about his chances in the general election to writing things that are either deliberately disingenuous or genuinely ignorant. The latest example of this tragic development is a column titled, "Three Cheers for RomneyCare." As its title suggests, this piece actually defends the Massachusetts "universal" health law. When I first read it, I could hardly believe such horse manure had emanated from Coulter's keyboard. The column opens with this howler: "If only the Democrats had decided to socialize the food industry or housing, RomneyCare would probably still be viewed as a massive triumph for conservative free-market principles -- as it was at the time."  [Who Castrated Ann Coulter?]

Last February Mark Levin  was puzzled by Ann Coulter’s bizarre endorsement of Chris Christie, who supports gun control, amnesty, Obamacare and climate legislation.  Before that, way back in July 2009, I was puzzled when she denounced us "birthers" as kook conspirators.  Not because she took a disagreeable stance, but because she did it without explanation. That was way out of character for someone who tackled the false,  but sacred-to-the-left image of Joe McCarthy as arch fiend..  Ann writes whole  books explaining her contrariness, but here, A dicto simpliciter

I don't jettison friends over political differences—   if the differences are presented factually and are philosophically consistent I agree to disagree.  That especially goes for someone I've admired as much as Ann Coulter.  But, WTF?  What's going on?

Ann stated in the past that she hasn't married because she's never found a man who's both stimulating and as smart as she.  She's dated several card carrying Liberals in the past, and herein may be the solution to this vexatious question. A woman in love can, you know, adapt. The  post-Carville Mary Matalin,  for example,  is a good deal more, er, politically pragmatic then the original, conservative  firebrand.

And there's the Stockholm syndrome possibility.  Ann Coulter is greeted at every public appearance by Liberals determined that she should not be allowed to speak.  Fights break out; violence always a possibilty.  Ann would not be the first person who succumbed to wanting safety from this; and to be loved.   The most conspicuous example I can think of is David Brock,  although Ann Couilter could not possibly jettison all her principles  in a stroke.  One hopes.

The Photo That Could Win Romney the White House
The leading Republican candidate should schedule a visit with Catholic leaders now, according to our political columnist, and reap the political benefits in November.

WYSIWYG

This is my response to any appeal to bring religion into this election (as long as the candidate is not a Muslum).  What a bunch of crap, that 'photo-op' notion.  I'm a Roman Catholic, and I could care less that Ronald Reagan wasn't, if you catch my drift.  It's unlikely, bordering on  impossible, that Obama would carry the practicing Catholic vote as it is.  I don't care that Mitt Romney is a Mormon.  I do care that he would be just another version of  the Bushes, McCain, et.al,  shoved down our throats by the establishment GOP, and lacking any revolutionary fervor for  lopping heads.  Same goes for the rest of the pack, except for Ron Paul who comes with his own bag of worries. I must content myself then with a stop-gap hope that the Obama monster will be slain in November because, to mix metaphors,  we're not just on the brink, we're leaning 20º to leeward.

Lunch Time Scholars

This video was sent to me by a good friend whose daughter actually attends the Olympia, WA school where it was filmed.

It will make you shudder with concern over the future of our country.

The sorry thing is, that each one of these kids probably knows all about MLK, gay rights, electronic games, and their cell phones.

This country is in deep shit.

One of their last times together was at a Boston Democratic fund-raiser. Ted Kennedy, the president’s baby brother, was in the room with them.

“I could see that mischievous look come into his eye. ‘Mimi, why don’t you take care of my baby brother? He could stand a little relaxation.’

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” she replied firmly. “Absolutely not, Mr. President.”

Interesting.  The attempts are well documented; the reasons given are of course conjecture.  Conjecture however that fits the leftist template that I'll call "For the chillens."  You'll recall a persistent squeak from the media during this period,   about how the "Natural Born" provision should be changed—   so Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger could run for president..  Remember?  That was while the Austrian actor and body builder was still viewed as a conservative.   "Do it for the chillens"   For those of you who balk at thinking Barry Obama Soetoro was to be the recipient of this move by democrats, way back in 2000, consider.

When George Bush saved the nation from John Kerry in 2004, an inordinate amount of ink was used covering the election to the U.S. Senate of a little known black guy from Illinois.  It was so much, for something of  so little significance at that moment,  that Jonah Goldberg noted it in his NRO column: CAPTURING THE MEDIA MOMENT

If I were a political cartoonist, I would draw Dan Rather or Katie Couric with a thought-bubble over his/her head. Inside would be the front page of the New York Times.

Consider that in 2008 congressional democrats held hearings to consider the eligibility of John McCain?  Because he was born while his naval officer dad was stationed in Panama?  Were there hearings about Obama's eligibility?  No. I believe the McCain hearings were a democrat hedge against someone noticing the peculiarities of Obama's existence.  Something that didn't happen until the campaign was well under way, and then dismissed as the ravings of lunatics.

Remember how Obama denied any relationship with Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers ("he's just a guy in the neighborhood")?  Despite all of this?  Hell, Ayers himself finally admitted last year that he had in fact hosted that fundraiser in 1995!   for Barry (something denied by Obama).  It was the opinion of every expert who  looked at it, that Ayers penned Obama's :autobiography Dreams From My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance.”   An autobiography of someone nobody had heard of  when it was commissioned in 1990!  And which, as it turns out, is made up out of whole cloth. Why?

I'm convinced that Obama was "installed" as president to fulfill the goals, aspirations, and plans of a cabal that included Ayers.  And  a lot of elected Democrats.  A puppet president, working (not all that hard)  from a script.

I don't dwell on the doings of  the Occupy Fleas, so this may be commonplace.  I refer to this Nation of Islamo helping a Flea move a stolen sofa into one of the George Soros supplied tents.  I hadn't seen a Farrakhan groupie  involved with the Fleas  before.  Sort of like the Chicoms crossing the Yalu.  Still, if you're a leftist anarchist wingnut soldier, it doesn't auger well when you lose the support of a Senior Wingnut cheerleader.

Maher Turns on Occupiers, Denounces Them as D-bags That Should ‘Get a Job’

The Occupy movement lost one of its most ardent supporters in the media Friday night.

On HBO's Real Time, host Bill Maher surprisingly said of the protesters, "As I watch them on the news now I find myself almost agreeing with Newt Gingrich. Like, you know what - get a job...Now it's just a bunch of [d-bags] who think throwing a chair through the Starbucks window is going to bring on the revolution" (video follows with transcript and commentary, vulgarity warning):

One of the most hilarious things I've ever seen was a Today Show that aired, I think, in the late 80s.  The topic was safe sex.  Jane  Pauley (I'm pretty certain)  hosted, while a  reformed prostitute turned  "safe sex" advocate demonstrated (with a cucumber)  how to apply a condom with your mouth.  "He will never know it's on."  She then asked Jane if she'd like to try?  A visibly discomfited Pauley politely demurred and went to commercial.  I know this segment's out there someplace, but I have yet to find it.

A filthy f'n berk

In a move that should come as a surprise to nobody, a Democrat appointee to the Supreme Court has dissed the United States Constitution,  Overseas  To the Obama installed Muslim Brotherhood government of Egypt. Here, from SLATE

Ruth Bader Ginsburg has disturbed the balance of the universe by giving an interview to Egyptian television in which she does not recommend using the U.S. Constitution as a model for post-Mubarak happiness. The whole video is here, and some transcripts are at the link, but this part is the hackle-raiser.

Q: Would your honor's advice be to get a part or other countries' constitutions as a model, or should we develop our own draft?

A: You should certainly be aided by all the constitution-writing that has gone one since the end of World War II. I would not look to the US constitution, if I were drafting a constitution in the year 2012. I might look at the constitution of South Africa. That was a deliberate attempt to have a fundamental instrument of government that embraced basic human rights, had an independent judiciary. It really is, I think, a great piece of work that was done. Much more recent than the U.S. Constitution: Canada has a Charter of Rights and Freedoms. It dates from 1982. You would almost certainly look at the European Convention on Human Rights. Yes, why not take advantage of what there is elsewhere in the world? I'm a very strong believer in listening and learning from others.

What's controversial?

A tyrant president  ....

WYSIWYG
First, whenever the media discussed filthy low-life scum "artists" like Annie Sprinkle, or Andres Serrano (Piss Christ), it was almost always in the context of  artists under attack by the far right, m-kay?   It wasn't controversial to let people look up someone's snatch with a telescope, it was "performance art." So, why is this controversial? Notions that Obama tramples the constitution, and its depiction,  have been  mainstream since  his first days in office.  Sheesh.  It's his very presence in office that's controversial (and that's being kind).
