TOP GEAR AGAIN!

TOP GEAR

It's BACK!

As you may know, Amazon stepped in to rescue the lads after Jeremy, rather boorishly, punched a cheeky BBC producer, and was fired. I had pretty much stopped watching it anyway, because it had become a self parody.  The early shows, however, had so captured my soul that I watched the whole series (Netflix) something like eight times. And would still if the BBC hadn't yanked the first dozen, or so, series off the air.  I looked to see if I could buy them, without luck.  But, I digress.

Amazon signed the boys up to do a Top Gear-ish series called "The Great Adventure."  From early clips I've seen ... not interested. But, as part of the package, Amazon offers the entire Top Gear shmeer.  Even some "Series 1, " that nobody on earth, evidently, had ever seen.  Here are some some of the steps that began to annoy the crap out of me, and a few winners.

  • Look for the lead-in shown above (aircraft hanger).  A sign of quality.
  • The very first time you hear the "Stig" intro begin "Some say he ....;" you have entered the beginning of crap zone.
  • Early episodes showed edited clips of celebrities driving the "reasonably priced car." When they somehow thought is would be fun to see the whole 2 minutes, or so, the shtick drifted into yawner.
  • The celebrity interviews were pretty much jewels, every one. Watch them all.
  • After a fashion, the audience grew from an intimate gathering of gear heads and their often lovely girl friends (that Jeremy would hit on),  to something akin to a Super Bowl crowd.
  • The producers did however round up the best lookers, and use them as front row scenery.
  • The "NEWS" segment was, IMO, the best feature, but eventually scrapped. Sigh.
  • The COOL WALL.  Pffft.

Will conservatives in the GOP stand up to Trump?

Donald Trump is notable among recent Republican presidential nominees in his talent for alienating conservatives. Those who disowned him during the campaign include three former chairmen of the Republican National Committee, House members Adam Kinzinger of Illinois and Justin Amash of Michigan, and commentators George Will, Charles Krauthammer and William Kristol.

It's safe to say that four years ago, none of them could have imagined refusing to vote for the 2016 GOP presidential nominee. Trump violated their sense of what the Republican Party represents, and they and many other people on the right couldn't accept him at the top of the ticket. [FULL]

"Trump violated their sense of what the Republican Party represents."

Which is what? I don't mean in theory; I mean in practice.  Since Reagan, (and even then, the GOP establishment tempered him with good old boy George Bush) the GOP, as a lot, have behaved like self serving Quislings who can't find a principle they're not willing sacrifice. What I call the GOP wing of the Democrat Party.  Will examples as much.

When President George W. Bush proposed to add prescription drug coverage to Medicare — the biggest new federal entitlement since the 1960s — the House Republican leadership did everything it could to push its members into line, and they got it passed.

Bye the By, I long ago scissored my GOP membership card; voting for them, for the most part, as the better of two evils.  I don't know what Will thinks the GOP represent, and I don't think he does ether. That Democrats are so fearful of Donald Trump that even now "Academics push Clinton to seek recount" means he is at least on the right track.

Today's DUMP

SAY IT AIN'T SO JOE

PREVIOUSLY:

At the second presidential debate in October, Trump sounded a much harsher tone.

“If I win, I am going to instruct my attorney general to get a special prosecutor to look into your situation because there has never been so many lies, so much deception,” he vowed.
If this is true, it means that a President Trump would have to prohibit his DOJ from pursuing criminal actions against a known felon.  There can be no sugar coating this stain.  MFCS.

San Francisco teacher's union ...

Provoking Racial Unrest

Hollywood/Public Education/Democrat Party
Axis Strike Again

San Francisco’s public schools have been offered a classroom lesson plan that calls President-elect Donald Trump a racist, sexist man who became president “by pandering to a huge racist and sexist base.”

The union that represents city teachers posted the plan on its website and distributed it via an email newsletter to its more than 6,000 members. The school district has more than 57,000 students.

“I know that they might curse and swear, but you would too if you have suffered under the constructs of white supremacy or experienced sexism, or any isms or lack of privilege,” she wrote.
The Republican Party in San Francisco slammed the lesson plan.

“It’s inappropriate on every level,” said Harmeet Dhillon, an RNC committeewoman from California. She called it “inappropriate propaganda that unfairly demonizes not only the campaign that Donald Trump, the winner, ran, but also all of the people who voted for him.”

The plan was written by social studies teacher Fakhra Shah, who said she hadn’t planned for it to spread citywide — that was a step taken by the teacher’s union. She wrote it at 2 a.m. Nov. 9, just hours after results came in, to help teachers at her school struggling with how to answer students’ questions and concerns about Trump becoming president…

San Francisco is diverse, with many students whose families are in the country illegally and who say they’re worried by Trump’s calls for deportation. Shah warned teachers that some students may use inappropriate words to express their fear and anger.

“I know that they might curse and swear, but you would too if you have suffered under the constructs of white supremacy or experienced sexism, or any isms or lack of privilege,” she wrote. [FULL]

It would be ungentlemanly to suggest that Fakrah Shah, and the rest of  ... Never mind. .

I MAD AS HELL!
  .                       ..

Vas ist los?

After posting "What is meant by the modern term referred to as ‘POLITICAL CORRECTNESSS’..", I sent an e-mail to she who sent it to me. MoSup.  To tell her it was bogus. This is what I got (using G-Mail)

And, for those offering advice on "I'm  MAD AS HELL!," re: Windows 10 refusing to recognize Irfan View's search program (Did I mention that?  Whoops.  No, I did not). But ...

  • "Sideload Apps" and "Developer" had nothing!
  • And,  Win MS have stripped away the "Open with..." option;
  • And will not let me select a Irfan Vu option.
And, I had previously reloaded the latest Irfan Vu package, and it worked ... for a short while.  And then it didn't.  Another reinstall wouldn't let me "search" at all.  And...I'm way past caring enought to grapple with using UNIX, or any other alternative.  MFCS!

Bless me Father ...

The Pope What?

Just saw this Drudge item.

Pope grants all priests power to forgive abortion...

Here's the deal.  R.C.  priests have, from day one, the power to forgive a penitent sinner of any and all confessed sin.  More to the point, in this case, if you're  not Catholic, who cares?  I have no interest in keeping up with pronouncements by, say, the Methodist Council of Bishops, because I'm not Methodist.  Nor would they be particularly interested in what Pope Francis has to say.  Oui?   So why do  the leftist secular press pay so much attention to this Pope's utterances?*

Simple.

If I'm a rat bastard abortion (the Left's holy sacrament) activist, I'm terrified that President Trump will make good his promise to defund Planned Parenthood.   So, using their peculiar calculus, Pope Francis can be made to look like he's saying, hey, this is okay.

Oh. This is a CNN story.  Case closed.

*Aside I have in the past reacted negatively to several of PF's  pronouncements.  I  later discovered that the English translation had, either by design, or  by purpose,  been  mischaracterized..

See: Podesta discussed infiltrating the Catholic Church with progressive ideology to foment revolution; destroy the Catholic church from within.

TRUMAN:‘POLITICAL CORRECTNESSS’

              Catharsis

What is meant by the modern term referred to as ‘POLITICAL CORRECTNESSS’..

The definition is found in 4 telegrams at the Truman Library and Museum in Independence, Missouri. The following are copies of four telegrams between President Harry Truman and Gen Douglas MacArthur on the day before the actual
signing of the WWII Surrender Agreement in September 1945..  The contents of those four telegrams below are exactly as received at the end of the war - not a word has been added or deleted!

(1) Tokyo, Japan
0800-September 1,1945
To: President Harry S Truman
From: General D A MacArthur

Tomorrow we meet with those yellow-bellied bastards and sign the Surrender Documents, any last minute instructions?

(2) Washington, D C
1300-September 1, 1945
To: D A MacArthur
From: H S Truman

Congratulations, job well done, but you must tone down your obvious dislike of the Japanese when discussing the terms of the surrender with the press, becausesome of your remarks are fundamentally not politically correct!

(3) Tokyo, Japan
1630-September 1, 1945
To: H S Truman
From: D A MacArthur and C H Nimitz

Wilco Sir, but both Chester and I are somewhat confused, exactly what does the term politically correct mean?

(4) Washington, D C
2120-September 1, 1945
To: D A MacArthur/C H Nimitz
From: H S Truman

Political Correctness is a doctrine, recently fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and promoted by a sick mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a piece of shit by the clean end!

Now, with special thanks to the Truman Museum and Harry himself, you and I finally have a full understanding of what ‘POLITICAL CORRECTNESS’ really means.....

I love it.  However, a search of the TrumanLiberry provides no such dialog.  Too bad, because it's essentially the troot.

Dan has some Balz ...

Oh, the hubris

This WaPost Analysis "Donald Trump, America’s first independent president" begins smartly enough:

Viewed through any conventional lens, President-elect Donald Trump’s candidacy was improbable from start to finish. Today, two things about his victory seem to be in sharper focus: one, that Trump’s victory might best be understood as the success of the country’s first independent president, and second, that the Trump coalition may be even more uniquely his than President Obama’s has turned out to be. "

But  Dan Balz quickly reverts, like the paranoid schizophrenic gone off his Lithium Kool-Aid, to the "fantasy."

" Think again about how he prevailed. There are a handful of major events during a general election that give the nominees a chance to showcase themselves, their judgment and their vision. One is the selection of a running mate. Another is the staging of the conventions. A third is performance in the debates. Hillary Clinton did better than Trump on all three tests, though Trump’s team believes the debates did not fall so decisively in her favor.

Clinton raised more money than Trump. She had a larger number of paid staffers on the ground in the battleground states. She ran more television ads by far. He created needless controversies throughout the general election, while her problems were far fewer. Only in the final days did he seem surer of himself.

In other words, Trump came out the loser on virtually every aspect of how campaigns are usually evaluated."

"Her problems were far fewer..." GAK!  Rabid dog ...

I MAD AS HELL!

We Know Better What Best For US You

They don't even  use this bogus excuse anymore

Why is anyone surprised that Microsoft Corp, and Founder Bill Gates, poured cash into Hillary's campaign war chest? Easy.  Liberal rules begin with the premise that they know what's best for me, ergo it's okay to wipe out competition that becomes a threat to their domination.  Same as what Dems just tried ... again.

Am I right?

Damn right.   My breaking point, this time, is that MS pricks decided too many people were using the best image viewer/management system on God's earth
IrfanViewin lieu of their embedded product. And And I'm not alone.
My hope is the new AG will file criminal charges against MS Corp, and fine them $2 trillion for predatory business practices. And, btw, Apple in no better.

PS- I still haven't forgiven MS for what they did to LOTUS 123. Buncha bastids!

Rude; Boorish; Stupid

Nightmare for future employers

What is it going to look like the first time these college kids are out in the real world and their boss yells at one of them? Can you imagine their panic when they realize there's no pony in the next room that they can stroke to make them feel better? If they have an argument with their co-worker will they have to go home because their employer didn't supply a room for coloring or play-doh? College kids are getting ready for the real world, but they won't find crying rooms out there.

Not to mention the state of high boorishness as DISPLAYED HERE

Hey, they've been a communist party for years

Trevor Loudon’s The Enemies Within poses a simple question – “Could your Congressman pass an FBI background check?”

With close ties to both the Communist Party USA and several Muslim Brotherhood front groups, Trevor Loudon believes that Congressman Ellison would have no chance of passing even the most the rudimentary type of background check, applied to the most low-level federal government employees. Yet within days, Representative Ellison may lead one of this country’s two main political parties. For further information contact Trevor Loudon, 772-267-8189, or trevor@enemieswithinmovie.com.

*
Keith Ellison, a Marxist/Muslim Democratic Congressman from Minnesota, could soon become the Democratic National Committee chairman.

With the endorsements of Senators Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, Bernie Sanders and more than 250,000 signatures on an “Ellison for chairman” petition, Representative Ellison is the early favorite for the position.

Many writers have focused on Ellison’s Islamic beliefs, but few have examined his extensive Marxist connections.
*Just guessing, but I bet this Google demurrer will be used as an imprimatur by websites who will now refuse to post "fake news.

Court is in Sessions

IMPEACH YAY TRUMP!!

My hope and expectation was that Trump would make Rudy Giuliani Attorney General.  Because I want someone who will go balls-out to, as he promised during the debates, send the Clinton crime family to prison.  And, although he really couldn't include Obama as a target, there is no way, objectively, to not include him as well.

Then I heard Trey Gowdy rumors. I'm okay with that. But, yikes!  When I saw, first thing this morning, that he asked "best friend" Jeff Sessions to take the job, I was way pissed!     But wait ....

  • Sessions was ranked by National Journal as the fifth-most conservative U.S. Senator
  • Sessions has taken a strong stand against any form of citizenship for illegal immigrants.
  •  Advocated for expanded construction of a Southern border fence
  • One of 25 senators to vote against the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 (the bank bailout),
  • Sessions has been an opponent of same-sex marriage and has earned a zero rating from the Human Rights Campaign, the United States' largest LGBT advocacy group.
  • Sessions was "heartbroken" and found "it beyond comprehension" when President Obama claimed that cannabis is not as dangerous as alcohol
  • He voted against the Matthew Shepard Act, which added acts of bias-motivated violence based on sexual orientation and gender identity to federal hate-crimes law
  • Sessions joined five Republican colleagues in voting against Sotomayor's nomination in the Judiciary Committee.
  • Sessions pointed out that Kagan “has a very thin record legally, never tried a case, never argued before a jury, only had her first appearance in the appellate courts a year ago."

And, finally

In 1986, Reagan nominated Sessions to be a judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama. Sessions's judicial nomination was recommended and actively backed by Republican Alabama Senator Jeremiah Denton. A substantial majority of the American Bar AssociationStanding Committee on the Federal Judiciary, which rates nominees to the federal bench, rated Sessions "qualified," with a minority voting that Sessions was "not qualified."

At Sessions' confirmation hearings before the Senate Judiciary Committee, four Department of Justice lawyers who had worked with Sessions testified that he had made several racist statements. One of those lawyers, J. Gerald Hebert, testified that Sessions had referred to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) as "un-American" and "Communist-inspired" because they "forced civil rights down the throats of people."

Whoops. I confused Sessions with political hack Sen. Thad (Mississippi).  Hey, I have a lot of stuff in my head.  But this is a brilliant choice.

But, now, If he doesn't appoint John Bolton as UN Ambassador, and Sarah Palin as Sec/Interior, there will be hell to pay!

Have a nice day.

Alaska The Last Frontier

cinema à la carte

What?  Nobody tells me about the all time greatest series ever?  I flat tripped over Discovery Channel's Alaska The Last Frontier last week, and have been gorging on it since.  The Poopsicle episode, embedded above, got me started.  The best thing? Full episodes are available on You Tube. I'm telling you, the best thing Americans can do for "every kid gets a trophy" youngins is make them watch every episode with you.  They'll learn about life; what made America great, how to face adversity, and how babies are made, and how to dispatch sick animals better then anything they get in school- and probably from you too.  I'm not kidding.
