Illegal aliens get amnesty and $350,000 from Obama Feds

Res Ipsa Loquitur

Eleven illegal aliens who claimed ICE agents “violated their rights” in 2007 raids on their New Haven neighborhood have won a $350,000 settlement from the U.S. government, which also agreed to halt deportation proceedings against the plaintiffs, their attorneys said Tuesday.

I have to step away from blogging for awhile.  I pressed my red blow-them-all-to-hell button so hard that I broke it.

Chicago Called Most Corrupt City In Nation

In the late 70's a friend with access cited a similar FBI report that pegged Prince George's County, MD as more corrupt than even Cook County (Chicago).  So, PG County, you'll have to step it up, if that's possible (shudder).

Ann Barnhardt's QOTD

Ann Barnhardt's QOTD

Q: Ann,
What do you think of the Marines who peed on the dead Taliban?

A: I have little sympathy for men who live their lives wiping their anuses with their bare hands after bowel movements, and who view as the pinnacle of human pleasure inserting their genitals and depositing their semen into the feces-laden rectums of boys and other men, who suddenly get squeamish about dead bodies being sprinkled with a bit of urine - which is sterile by the way. Those dead Taliban were probably the cleanest they had ever been in their adult lives after being showered with the righteous tinkles of those Marines. Ooh-rah. That is all. Carry on.

It appears that Ann Barnhardt is the new "Saint Ann." Ahem.

Is the one in the middle "stuffing?"

I must admit that, keen cultural observer that I am, this is a first for me.  My guesses

  1. A none too subtle attempt for men to compete as women?
  2. A statement by radical feminists?
  3. An admission that women have cod envy?
  4. An attempt to modestly hide thier camel toe?
  5. They've all crapped their pants?

I can't say I despise Charles Johnson  because he's dead to me since beginning his David Brock impersonation.  However, some lefty-blog stink led me to this—

Fox News Commenters Respond to Whitney Houston’s Death With Deluge of Hatred and Racism

I don’t even know what to say about this any more. There’s a real sickness running rampant in the right wing; the Fox News comment thread on Whitney Houston’s death is yet another disgusting deluge of outright racism: Singer Whitney Houston Dies at 48 | Fox News.

There are almost 5000 comments posted in the thread — these are from the first few pages. Notice that the racist bastards deliberately misspell their slurs or insert random spaces, so they aren’t caught by word filters. And many of the worst comments have numerous “likes” from other commenters.

A tragedy is when someones passes away from a terminal disease or something else that no one saw coming.Whitney is just an inferior lo w life ni gg er that needed to go,no tragedy,no loss.

[…]

Any death is a tragedy you heartless bástard.

[…]

not nignogs their death is a plus

[…]

FOX NEWS ought to be moderating comments better, and he's right about the "racist bastards."   There is little question that Obama's Helter-Skelter campaign to create a racial schism  has borne fruit.  I have a few (2 or 3) times deleted  a comment here that crossed the line, but nothing as blatant as we see here.  Something doesn't pass the smell test though.

The raw hatefulness exhibited in the Whitney Houston comments fit perfectly the Left's characterization of FOX NEWS viewers, but not at all what we actually see amongst us.  It is possible of course that some white supremacist groups tapped in, but it's equally more likely that they were manufactured by these people.  Doesn't it fit perfectly that campaign  to destroy the single news voice that dares report ALL the news?   There was, you'll remember, a spate of   "Leftists vandalize Democrat HQ to smear Obamacare foes " stories awhile back.  It's what they do, and are doing still I'll argue.  As an aside, do you think the Little Green Dirt Ball would expose the fraud of the Killian documents today? I do not.   No more than David Brock would expose Anita Hill today.

“unhealthy” lunch replaced with cafeteria nuggets

Res Ipsa Loquitur

A preschooler was fed chicken nuggets for lunch because a state worker felt that her homemade lunch did not have enough nutritional value ...

The West Hoke Elementary School student was in her classroom when a state employee who was inspecting lunch boxes decided that her packed lunch — which consisted of a turkey and cheese sandwich, a banana, apple juice and potato chips — “did not meet U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines.”

The student’s mother was charged $1.25 for the cafeteria tray, from which her daughter ate three chicken nuggets.

Prediction - we're not far from Nanny States finding it necessary to arm Child Protective Services employees—  Hell, all gummint employees, for  protection against the  unruly, unappreciative, and recalcitrant  citizenry.

Media Matters memo called for hiring private investigators ‘to look into the personal lives’ of Fox employees

As an aside

A little after 1 p.m. on Sept. 29, 2009, Karl Frisch emailed a memo to his bosses, Media Matters for America founder David Brock and president Eric Burns. In the first few lines, Frisch explained why Media Matters should launch a “Fox Fund” whose mission would be to attack the Fox News Channel.

“Simply put,” Frisch wrote, “the progressive movement is in need of an enemy. George W. Bush is gone. We really don’t have John McCain to kick around any more. Filling the lack of leadership on the right, Fox News has emerged as the central enemy and antagonist of the Obama administration, our Congressional majorities and the progressive movement as a whole.”   [Full]

I suppose it's too much to expect this congress to hold hearings on this most unseemly effort by the administration to silence critics through intimidation and terror.  Just the opposite is being proposed as a matter of fact.

So far more than 200,000 people in the U.S. have called on Congress to launch an investigation into whether Murdoch and his company were engaged in similar illegal activities in the U.S.  You can take action here.

On this page we have collected resources about Rupert Murdoch, News Corp. and their impact on U.S. media policy.

FHA Bankrupt

       WHAT GUMMINT DOES

Why does FHA Mortgage Insurance exist?

Unlike conventional loans that adhere to strict underwriting guidelines, FHA-insured loans require very little cash investment to close a loan. There is more flexibility in calculating household income and payment ratios. The cost of the mortgage insurance is passed along to the homeowner and typically is included in the monthly payment. In most cases, the insurance cost to the homeowner will drop off after five years or when the remaining balance on the loan is 78 percent of the value of the property -whichever is longer.

How is FHA funded?

FHA is the only government agency that operates entirely from its self-generated income and costs the taxpayers nothing. The proceeds from the mortgage insurance paid by the homeowners are captured in an account that is used to operate the program entirely. FHA provides a huge economic stimulation to the country in the form of home and community development, which trickles down to local communities in the form of jobs, building suppliers, tax bases, schools, and other forms of revenue. [FHA]

In the wayback, when the newly married us were buying our first home,  my dad jokingly offered that the FHA insurance fee was something of a gummint money making scam.  The default rate on FHA loans (going back to 1933) was so low that administration fees alone  cost more than any payout.  Of course that was long before  Bill Clinton, Barney Frank, and  Chris Dodd  became  the nation's banking engineers. Fast forward.

For the first time in its 78-year history, the 100 percent taxpayer-backed Federal Housing Administration is projected to run out of its remaining $4.7 billion financial reserves and trigger an infusion of funds from the Treasury.

President Barack Obama's re-election campaign identified its top fundraisers on Tuesday, including 61 people who each raised at least half a million dollars. Altogether, the more than 440 fundraisers collected at least $75 million to help Obama win a second term.

Among them are embattled former New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine. Obama's campaign and the Democratic National Committee late last year returned $70,000 in contributions from Corzine and his wife following questions about the collapse of MF Global, the financial firm Corzine ran.

The Mittsters

Feelings

Res Ipsa Loquitur

When I saw this picture of the Mittester and his bride over the weekend,  I had an immediate and visceral reaction.
  1. Mitt reminded me of someone I'd want to smack when I was in high school.  Captain of the lacrosse team, drove a 'Vette, SGA president, stole my girlfriend.  Okay, woulda been my girlfriend if he wasn't around. Smarmy dude.
  2. His wife looks like Hillary.
There's no accounting visceral reaction of course, and I normally wouldn't mention mine; here; about this;  but for this Yahoo story.

The press has offered basically two explanations for Mitt Romney’s failure to win over conservative voters. The first is ideological: conservatives know that Romney was once a moderate and they don’t consider his swing to the right sincere. The second is personal: whether because of his money, his faith or his hair, average Republican voters just don’t relate to him.

So yeah, I'm simpatico with that assessment.  I don't think we're capable of altering our  moral firmament  after the age of 7 (the age of reason), which is why good, early parenting is so important. So, for instance, a  liar will always be a liar.  I'm not accusing Mitt of that here, just distinguishing.  We can on the other hand change our  politics quite dramatically (see David Horowitz), so I don't have my heels dug in on that score with Mitt.  Maybe he has changed his mind since Romney-care. Don't matter.  I just don't like him.

As I looked at a sea of Palestinian flags and college kids banging on drums I felt a certain frustration – frustration based on a series of events that have changed my world view.

Res Ipsa Loquitur
In the Summer of 2010, having recently escaped Hollywood, CA to take a much needed break from my profession as a film maker, I was driving in my car listening to a story on NPR.  It seems the people in my new home of Murfreesboro, TN were up in arms over the proposed construction of a 53,000 square foot mega mosque, to be built in their small town in the middle of the American Bible Belt.

I listened carefully, to the sound bytes, of those who had shown up to a town hall meeting to voice their opposition and, as someone who was rather new to the South, I was surprised by what I was hearing.   “America is a Christian nation and there is only one God and his name is not Allah and his son is Jesus Christ” and “America is a Christian Nation” and “These Muslims do not share my values and I don’t want them in my backyard”.  Growing up in Southern California, I had never heard anything like this before in my life.  And I started to follow the story with great interest.

Everything I have told you up until now – this version of my story – is exactly how I was seeing things up until something changed.  I went home to Los Angeles ... [Full].

IDEA REKINDLING

Res Ipsa Loquitur

I shan't be the first person to suggest that new voter registrants must(along with showing proper picture ID) pass this test.  Yep, the Immigration and Naturalization Service exam new citizen candidates must pass. Well, unless it's an election year, and a democrat incumbent is seeking reelection.  In that case the INS is usually instructed to engage in "Group Mex,"  so to speak.  At any rate,  the test shouldn't be too awfully  hard to pass.  I don't know what a passing score is, but I'd argue for 95%.   There are a few questions I'd dearly love to see in a  "most frequent wrong answer" list.   My guess for these three are—

QUESTION
MOST (probable) WRONG AWNSER GIVEN
82. Name one purpose of the United Nations. * Sorry, but straight-away I'm deviating from the format.  The only appropriate answer here is "This question has no business being included in this list."   Any other answer means instant deportation.
86. Name one benefit of being a citizen of the United States. Free Stuff
87. What is the most important right granted to U.S. citizens? Getting Free stuff

So, how'd you do?

ACLU Sues Bloomfield for Display of 10 Commandments

Res Ipsa Loquitur

Yesterday, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of New Mexico filed a lawsuit on behalf of two Bloomfield, NM citizens who seek the removal of the Ten Commandments monument prominently displayed on the city hall lawn. The lawsuit alleges that the monument is a government endorsement of religion and violates the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution as well as the New Mexico State Constitution.

In a unique compromise that may find favor with  other municipalities plagued by contentious and disagreeable citizens, the town chiseled out the sixth commandment and killed the two complainants.  The ACLU had no choice but to drop the suit until another citizen petitions them. That appears unlikely.

I promised catharsis.

The newly approved €20m (£17m) housing project is to be built next to the Swiss village of Wiedlisbach near Bern and will provide sheltered accommodation and care for 150 elderly dementia patients in 23 purpose-built 1950s-style houses. The homes will be deliberately designed to recreate the atmosphere of times past.

The scheme's promoters said there will be no closed doors and residents will be free to move about. To reinforce an atmosphere of normality, the carers will dress as gardeners, hairdressers and shop assistants. The only catch is that Wiedlisbach's inhabitants will not be allowed to leave the village. [Full]
